I have had three surgeries over the years and have been fortunate to have Dr. Stephen Patterson as my surgeon. My first surgery was for gallbladder removal. I asked the nurses at the hospital in the ER, who should I get for my surShow moregery and they all said, Dr. Stephen Patterson. I was fortunate to have nurses who work with many doctors advise me. I would recommend Dr. Patterson to anyone. He is a very good surgeon and so compassionate and caring. The Lakeland Surgical Group are great to work with as well. Ann Durrett

Steven J. Patterson, MD, is an experienced general surgeon practicing at Lakeland Surgical Clinic, PLLC, located in Jackson, Mississippi.
The son of a family practice physician, Dr. Patterson is a native of Clinton, Mississippi, and attended Clinton High School. He completed his undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University before earning his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in 1994. He completed his surgical residency there in 1999.
Recently, Dr. Patterson obtained certification in stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies and became a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. He has recently been certified in hidden scar breast cancer surgery and completed ASCO Cancer Genetics Program. He specializes in treating an array of conditions affecting the breasts, including mastitis, cysts, benign and cancerous breast lumps, and high-risk patients. His mission is to help alleviate the fears of his patients, and their families, while guiding them through the treatment process.
