About Dr. Syed Akbarullah, MD

Board certified by ABIM in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine disorders, Dr. Syed Akbarullah joined Pulmonary Associates, Inc. in 2001. Dr. Akbarullah earned his medical degree at Gandhi Medical College/Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, in 1983. He then completed his internship in internal medicine at the Interfaith Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, in 1990. In 1993, he completed his internal medicine residency at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, and went on to three fellowships: pulmonary medicine and critical care at the Chicago Medical School, and sleep medicine at the University of Chicago. Dr. Akbarullah serves as the Medical Director at the Southern Nevada Sleep Lab and is the program director for the Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship program at Valley Hospital. He is also a member of the American College of Chest Physicians.

I was scheduled with Dr. Akbarullah but that is not who the provider was when I went for the appointment. That's a bit discouraging. This has happened with another provider I see. I don't understand why they tell you that you will be seeing a certain provider and then when you are checked in and called back, you find that you are not seeing the scheduled provider.
