Absolutely wonderful experience, From Doctor Loftus and his staff. Everyone takes their time with you and as a patient you don't feel rushed. From beginning appointment to what I hope is our last time seeing each other it has beenShow more a great experience. My pain is gone and I'm looking forward to getting back to a pain free and active lifestyle again. Highly recommend and as a patient it's very important to do what the practice asks you to do for a successful recovery. It's a minor blip in your life for a longer journey.
After a couple months wait to hear Dr. Loftus and discuss all the options it was his opinion to move ahead with surgery. When he told me because of the procedure he would use i would expect to be back to mowing in 6 weeks not 6 moShow morenths, this is very encouraging. Very impressed by Dr. Loftus open discussion of my spinal issues . Hopefully 6 stars after surgery.
Thomas Loftus, MD, FAANS, is a board-certified neurological surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery and the founder of Austin Neurosurgical Institute in Austin, Texas. Dr. Loftus has been in practice for over two decades and is among the most experienced minimally invasive spine surgeons in the United States. He holds numerous patents related to minimally invasive spine surgery and has taught numerous courses regarding techniques in his field.
Dr. Loftus earned his bachelor’s degree in zoology at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, where he graduated Cum Laude. He went on to graduate with his medical degree from the University of Texas- Southwestern Medical School at Dallas in 1997. He continued his training with general surgery and neurological surgery residencies at the University of Missouri Hospitals and Clinics and was named the chief resident of neurological surgery in his final year.
To further his expertise, Dr. Loftus pursued an Endovascular/Cerebrovascular Fellowship at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri and a Complex Spine Fellowship at Columbia Orthopedic Group in Missouri.
Dr. Loftus is a member of several professional organizations, including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the North American Spine Society, the International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery, the Texas Medical Association, the Travis County Medical Society, and the American Academy of Physicians and Surgeons. He is also a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons. Throughout his career, Dr. Loftus has received several awards for excellence in his field and been recognized as a top-ranked spine surgeon from Dexur, a healthcare news and research firm.

Very professional staff greeted me. I was seen early as I had arrived ahead of appointment time. Doctor was excellent discussing my progress & listening carefully to me and concerns. We set plan for continuing my therapy sessions and follow-up. Check out was quick and simple.
Dr Loftus and staff took the time to hear my concerns and worked with me develop a treatment plan to help get me back to mobility without pain.
I was in extreme pain prior to my back surgery by dr. Loftus. Six weeks post my surgery and I'm doing great, no pain and can waik again. The doc fixed me.

Dr. Loftus has a wonderful personality and his staff have been courteous each visit. Everyone has a smile and appear to be happy in their work. Dr. Loftus is very gentle in spirit and helps make you feel at ease. He is very good at his surgery technique and my recovery was good. He is though with follow up care as well after having the procedure done.
