Dr. Timothy Post, PsyD

I have extensive postdoctoral education/training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, through the Oklahoma Society for Psychoanalytic Studies and the Greater Kansas City Psychoanalytic Institute. I am currently a candidate in psychoanalysis at the New School for Existential Psychoanalysis in San Francisco. My approach to therapy is thus basically psychodynamic/psychoanalytic. While most other approaches to therapy are focused on symptom relief, this approach is more depth-oriented and focused on promoting greater self-understanding and more lasting change. Therapy of this sort tends to be of longer duration and is more challenging in some ways, but when successful, the results are deeper and more permanent. I enjoy working with adults, adolescents, and older (school-aged) children. Although the bulk of my work is in individual therapy, I am also available for couples therapy. When feasible, I can provide psychological testing & diagnostic assessment.
