I was taken in to an exam room soon after arriving and filling out paperwork for first time patients. A nurse showed me to the room and advised procedure of the attending doctor. Dr. Espiritu came in and talked for a few moments Show moreand then began examining my foot in which I told him it sometimes was very painful to walk on my left foot. Also, he noticed it was very swollen. He then told me 3 bones in my foot were broken, but have been healing. He told me he wanted to see me again in 2 months to see how the foot was. He left and the nurse stayed with me and then showed me the way back to the front to make an appointment. I feel better that I went and had my foot checked out for damage after being in the car wreck. Thank You Dr. Espiritu.
I have been very pleased with the expertise and follow-up shown by Dr. Espiritu and his staff over the course of having two foot surgeries in 2023. I feel that the process could be improved by communicating earlier to patients whaShow moret kind of aftercare and physical aids they will need (walker, knee scooter, handicap toilet seat with bars, etc.) beyond the first 24-48 hours post-surgery. My next comment has nothing to do with medical care but rather patient comfort. The furniture in the waiting room is very uncomfortable. It sags and is hard to get in and out of (and the poor pathetic plant in the waiting room should be taken care of or thrown out). Medical care is great; waiting room decor and comfort need improvement.
Troy Espiritu, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon serving patients at Columbus Foot & Ankle, P.C. in Columbus, Georgia.
Dr. Espiritu is a native from Louisiana and grew up in Mobile, Alabama, where he graduated from the University of South Alabama. He then attended the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio, graduating with honors.
Dr. Espiritu received several scholarships throughout his academic career, including the Wally Wiseman Surgical Excellence Award and the Distinguished Podiatric Writing Award.
After medical school, he completed three years of post-graduate training at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, focusing on all aspects of foot ankle surgery. Dr. Espiritu received training in routine podiatric surgical procedures, advanced reconstructive surgery, diabetic limb salvage procedures, trauma, and arthroscopy.
In 2000, he opened Columbus Foot & Ankle, P.C. in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Espiritu also provides care at the St. Francis Wound Management Program.
Dr. Espiritu has been very active in the local community providing regular educational seminars. In addition to being certified in foot surgery, he is a Diplomate of the American Board. Other memberships include the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine, the Georgia Podiatric Medical Association, and the American Podiatric Medical Association.
When he isn't working, Dr. Espiritu enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He's also an avid runner, having completed over 20 marathons and numerous ultra-marathons, including running endurance events up to 100 miles at a time. He also served as the Medical Director for the Soldier Marathon in Columbus, Georgia, in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Dr. E has treated my conditions for several years you can tell he really cares about his patients. I have diabetes and I’m hard to heal he is very patient and explains every thing in its entirety to my wife and I . The staff from check in to check out are great , my favorite is Cory she’s very personable and knows her job . My feet will never go any place except Dr.E office.
Dr. Espiritu is always professional and friendly and above all available when I need him to be. He explains the problem and offers solutions and I always leave the office in less pain than when I came in. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Espiritu listens and has a wonderful bedside manner. He is an attentive problem solver. It is apparent that he truly cares about each patient. When he enters the room , it is obvious he has read individual patient’s files and is knowledgeable about conditions, problems, and previous visits. Surgery in the office was painless and solved my problem. His nurses and support staff are kind, helpful, and very professional. I would not go anywhere else. Very attentive Competent care
I've been seeing Dr. Espiritu for several years and I have recommended him to others who have since come back and thanked me for the recommendation. He has helped both me and my son, helping my son resolve a persistent issue. He and his staff are always so personable and friendly. I never feel rushed in his office, and I feel completely confident in his ability as a podiatrist. One thing I appreciate the most about Dr. Espiritu is that he is conservative in his treatment plans so he doesn't jump to suggest any surgical procedures, exhausting all other options first.
