About Uli Schempp, MA, ATR-BC, LCAT LPC

I am a registered and board-certified art therapist, licensed as a creative arts therapist in the State of New York and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina with a Master’s degree in art therapy from New York University. I completed the International Trauma Studies Program at New York University with a certificate and also trained in EMDR therapy which is effective in addressing psychological trauma. I worked as a creative arts therapist in inpatient psychiatry at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, for several years with adult clients who suffered from a wide variety of mental disorders. I conducted both, group and individual sessions in a range of different modalities based on the clients’ needs and preferences. Since Since 2013, I have provided therapy within the Chapel Hill/Carrboro school system to students with emotional and behavioral problems as well as adults who are seeking therapy for a wide range of reasons.
