Umara Jamal, MD, is a board-certified physician with the team of endocrinology, diabetes, and thyroid specialists at The Endocrine Center. Dr. Jamal sees patients at the practice’s Main Campus and Greater Heights locations in Houston, Texas. She is board certified in internal medicine and board-eligible in endocrinology.
A Texas native, Dr. Jamal attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas, for her undergraduate studies. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and completed her medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine in the Caribbean. Dr. Jamal finished her internal medicine residency at Chabert Medical Center in Houma, Louisiana, and completed her endocrinology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

La Dra hizo su mayor esfuerzo para explicarme mis problemas de salud basado en el historial médico que yo les otorgue vía email, no me dijo nada nuevo lo que ella me explicó es lo que yo ya sabía, el problema es la barrea del idioma pues yo no hablo inglés y aunque la enfermera trato de traducir lo mejor posible hubo inconsistencias, entiendo que no es su trabajo pero si me hubiera gustado que la traducción fuera más fluida para entender del todo la consulta con la Dra.

As always Dr. Jamal was so attentive and very patient . Very informative she will explain it to you until you have a clear understanding and I really like that about her.
Dr Jamal was very thorough in going over my medical history, explaining the different medication options, and what tests needed to be ordered. She made it very clear to share all this information with my primary care doctor and with me. She didn't rush me and we had a very productive visit.

She always sends you home with clear understandable instructions about medication dosing and possible issues that could arise.
