Dr Vasili is one of the best orthopaedic doctor around. I was recommended to him from a friend, and I couldn’t be happier to be his patient for the past 2 years for my hip and knee problems. He is very attentive, polite, and alwayShow mores takes time to listen and answer questions. Also, never rushes you into to one way treatment, and gives you all possible options for treatment. My appointment was on time I couldn’t believe how efficient the service was. X-rays were fast and done immediately after I arrived. I then proceeded to an office where Dr Karas assistant spoke to me and went over the X-rays with mShow moree. Deanna was very professional and explained everything so I was able to understand it. I was amazed at how efficiently every thing went. I received two injections and went home feeling great. I wish I hadn’t waited so long to see Dr Karas I feel like a new person and my hip and knee feel great. I would highly recommend Dr Karas and his staff to anyone.
Vasili Karas, MD, MS, is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in minimally invasive and rapid recovery hip and knee replacements, as well as complex revision joint surgeries. He is committed to empowering his patients to overcome their pain and resume the activities they love.
A Chicagoland native with the goal of giving back to his community, Dr. Karas earned his medical degree at Rush University’s Medical College in Chicago. He then went to North Carolina to complete his residency training at Duke University Medical Center. After that, he returned to Chicago to finish his fellowship training in hip and knee replacement surgery at Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Karas’ approach to medicine involves spending time with his patients, fostering good communication, and offering the latest advances in medical technology. He has over 40 peer reviewed publications and is a committee member of the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). Through physical therapy, joint injections, and surgical procedures, he strives to get patients back on their feet as quickly as possible without compromising technique. He works closely with patients throughout their road to recovery and is highly skilled in addressing the full spectrum of concerns when it comes to hip or knee joints.

Dr Karas was phenomenal took everything into consideration including my weight and still scheduled my knee replacement in August and my other one 6-8 weeks later!! Where as the other dr at ortho Illinois would not even considerate it unless i lost weight!! Made me feel so so good that everything will be fine and I will be on the road to recovery in know time
Well I could of been notified I was being handed off to another doctor without the visit I’m very busy and live an hour away We got no where with the appointment other than stating the obvious which I was already told by three different surgeons If youbweee planning on passing me offf to a colleague then don’t before watimg my time

MOR in general is the best for your bone health. Dr. Karas and team a well oiled machine are the best of the best when it comes to knee care. I had aTKR done with Dr Karas today 8 months into it I am rowing, weightlifting soon to be jumping rope effortlessly. Thank you Dr Karas for treating me as a patient and not a case!
