Victor Khabie, MD, FAAOS, FACS, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon at Somers Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine Group. He is Co-Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, New York.
He provides personalized care to patients at the practice’s locations in Mount Kisco and Fishkill, New York, and Danbury, Connecticut.
Dr. Khabie received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, followed by an internship in general surgery at the New York University (NYU) School of Medicine. After his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in New York City, he went on to complete his fellowship in sports medicine surgery at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, a world-renowned center in diagnosing and treating orthopaedic and sports medicine injuries.
During his fellowship, Dr. Khabie cared for the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Mighty Ducks, Los Angeles Sparks, and the University of Southern California football and basketball teams.
Dr. Khabie is a leading expert in the field of orthopaedic sports medicine surgery and possesses a particular interest in shoulder and knee arthroscopic surgery, as well as robotic- assisted knee replacement surgery. He is the creator of a unique, patented knee brace with a multidimensional neoprene support called the “Victory Knee Brace,” which was first introduced at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting in San Francisco in 2004.
He is a Diplomate of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and possesses a subspecialty certificate in orthopaedic sports medicine. He is also a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Khabie is the former Chief of Surgery at Northern Westchester Hospital, where he is also the co-director of the Orthopaedic and Spine Institute. He is a former Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at NYU and currently is an Assistant Clinical Professor at New York Medical College. He is recognized as a NY Top Doctor for 2024–2025 by NY Top Docs (USA Top Docs Division)
Dr Khabie serves as the Medical Director and Orthopedic Surgeon to Pace University Athletics, an NCAA Division II sports program.
When Dr. Khabie is not performing arthroscopic surgery, he is a senior ringside physician for the New York State Athletic Commission, where he cares for professional boxers and has been ringside for numerous world championship bouts. He also cares for professional, collegiate, high school and recreational athletes.
Dr. Khabie is a published author of medical literature and has made numerous presentations to both local and national groups. He was the sports medicine column writer for a local newspaper, The Patent Trader. He has appeared on NBC News, The Today Show, and local TV programs. Dr Carlesi has been my doctor for over a decade. I had been searching for several years to find the right doctor for me. Even though I am an RN and in the medical field for over 30 years, it was not that simple for me. After an injury causing herniated discs, etc.,… which caused unbearable pain almost constantly which in the beginning It felt like it started from the top of my head to my toes. I had previously seen,orthopedic specialists/pain management, neurologist, who were telling me there was nothing they could do for me. For some reason, their first thought was invasive surgery and two of the doctors said that I would not even survive surgery so there was nothing they could do for me I was overwhelmed physically and mentally. How would I be able to live the rest of my life feeling the way I did at that time. Then I was referred to Dr. CARLESI !! He is not only extremely knowledgeable, Think out of the box but he is one of the most compassionate people and Drs I have met. There ARE alternatives other than major surgery that can at least lessen the pain !!! I searched for a couple years to find the right Dr until I got it right. I absolutely recommend Dr Carlesi to anyone who is looking for relief from the constant overwhelming suffering, that people like me with chronic and acute pain deal with.

Wonderful Experience. Was seen at time of appointment, no waiting. The entire staff was pleasant and professional. Dr. Khabie spent time explaining the x-rays and then gave me several options, taking the time to explain each option. I wasn’t rushed and Dr. Khabie answered all my questions. I have had several procedures done by Somers Orthopedic and have always been completely satisfied by their results.
