About Dr. Phuong
Viet Phuong, MD, is a board-certified surgeon who practices general and bariatric surgery at General & Minimally Invasive Surgery in Tomball, Texas. With over a decade of medical experience, his mission is to provide state-of-the-art surgical care to individuals living in and around Harris County and throughout the Greater Houston area.
Dr. Phuong graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2008. He then went on to complete his residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and is fellowship-trained in bariatric/minimally invasive surgery. He has been in practice since 2014 and currently practices with Northwest Surgical Associates and is affiliated with HCA Houston Healthcare Tomball. He accepts multiple insurance plans.

I was seen very quickly when I arrived. The Dr and his staff were very friendly and professional.
Dr Phoung performed my emergency appendectomy. I am so thankful he was the surgeon on call. I have had no complications from the surgery and have healed completely.
