Gary Nackman, MD, FACS, is a board-certified vascular surgeon with more than 25 years of experience helping women and men with venous disease and cosmetic concerns achieve healthy veins and skin. He founded the NJ Vein Care and Aesthetics Center in Clifton, New Jersey, to provide high-quality, one-on-one, patient-centered care in a welcoming, supportive environment. Dr. Nackman graduated summa cum laude from Union College in Schenectady, New York, and earned his Medical Doctorate from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, in 1988.  He completed his general surgery training at Columbia University, St. Luke' s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City in 1994. He then went on to participate in a fellowship in vascular surgery at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, in 1996.  

Formerly an associate professor of surgery at the prestigious Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Dr. Nackman trained and led the next generation of vascular surgeons and physicians. Currently, he's an attending surgeon at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.

Dr. Nackman has received national recognition for his NIH-funded, breakthrough scientific research. He's made numerous presentations at national and international conferences, authored textbook chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and co-authored a landmark scientific paper on how varicose veins degenerate. 

Certified by the American Board of Surgery in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Nackman is a member of several national and local societies, including the Society for Vascular Surgery, Association for Academic Surgery, Society of University Surgeons, and the Vascular Society of New Jersey. Nelson S. Menezes, MD, is board-certified in general surgery and vascular surgery and has served patients for more than 25 years. Throughout his career, he has always provided personal attention to each patient at his New York City practice, Nelson Menezes Vascular Specialist PC, located in Brooklyn Heights and Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

Specializing in foot and ankle surgery. With extensive training in foot and ankle reconstruction, Dr. Paternina is proud to serve patients at Foot & Ankle Premier Specialists, with locations Hoboken, Jersey City, Bayonne, West New York, Ridgefield, & Bloomfield, NJ.

After graduating in 2008 from Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, New Jersey, with a  Bachelor of Science in biology, Dr. Paternina enrolled in Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia. In 2014, she graduated in the top 5% of her class and completed her residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, a Level II trauma center. 

During her time as a resident, Dr. Paternina received comprehensive training in reconstructive surgery of complex foot and ankle deformities, including foot and ankle joint replacement, flatfoot, trauma, limb salvage, and advanced training techniques in treating difficult wounds. Her surgical abilities were so impressive that she earned the title of chief resident during her final year.

In addition to her surgical abilities, Dr. Paternina’s areas of expertise include pediatrics, sports medicine, arthroscopy, cartilage transplantation, plastic surgery, dermatology, and general foot care. She is passionate about education and has devoted her time to lectures and medical studies, both nationally and internationally. With a deep respect for medical missions that help underserved communities, Dr. Paternina often donates her time and expertise to various nonprofit endeavors. She is also affiliated with Meridian Healthcare System. 

When she is not working with her patients, Dr. Paternina enjoys traveling to new places, cycling, Zumba, kayaking, watching movies, and spending time with her family.
