Lee A. Reussner, MD and Director of the Kansas Voice Center, has been practicing otolaryngology head and neck surgery since 1994. He did his undergraduate coursework here in Lawrence at the University of Kansas, graduating with distinction. He went on to medical school, also at the University of Kansas, where he received his doctorate degree. Leo Martinez, MD, is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. Dr Melder is a native of Texas. He obtained undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry at Houston Baptist University in Houston, TX. Dr. Melder attended medical school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, TX. After graduating, Dr. Melder completed a surgical internship at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX, and then completed his Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. After training, Dr. Melder became a staff surgeon at Walter Reed and an associate program director at the National Capital Consortium Otolaryngology Training Program. Dr. Melder later became Chief, Otolaryngology at Walter Reed. Dr. Melder served on active duty for 13 years and left active duty to pursue a private practice career.
