She spent a summer at the University of Colorado School of Medicine as a member of the Emergency and Wilderness Medicine Program. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Rutgers University. Rian completed her clinical training in New Jersey at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, University Hospital in Newark, and University Medical Center in Princeton. During her elective rotation at the Cardio Metabolic Institute, she did research on weight management and worked with obese patients focusing on cardiac health as well as evaluation and management of obstructive sleep apnea.

Felipe J. Martinez, MD, FACS, is an ear, nose, throat, allergy, and balance disorders specialist with offices in Coral Gables, West Miami, and Doral, Florida. With more than 40 years of experience, Dr. Martinez is dedicated to his profession and his patients and offers a flexible schedule to minimize wait times for an appointment. He also offers in-house testing and procedures that allow patients to return to their usual lives as quickly as possible.
Dr. Martinez obtained his Bachelor of Science at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, graduating cum laude with a major in biology and minors in chemistry, psychology, and history. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Medicine, graduating in the upper third of his class at the University of Miami Medical School. He completed his internship and residency in otolaryngology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, an affiliate of his alma mater, and served as acting chief resident during the final two years of his medical training.
Dr. Martinez is board-certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and board-eligible by the American Academy of Otolaryngology Allergy. He is a professional member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and the South Florida ENT Associates.
With the goal to provide his patients with the greatest possible care, Dr. Martinez tirelessly pushes to stay on top of the latest technologies in medical care so he can provide the most efficient and effective testing and treatment options for his patients. For example, he performs balloon sinuplasty, an in-office, ground-breaking, minimally invasive procedure for those suffering from chronic sinusitis.
