Dr. Waterman, a native of Seattle, Washington, completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and began medical school at Albany (N.Y.) Medical College at the age of 19. Dr. Waterman earned his medical degree at the age of 23 years old, having completed the accelerated combined BS/MD degree curriculum within six years rather than the typical eight years it normally took to work through the arduous program.
