Jon Sorrel, MD, is a dedicated and skilled otorhinolaryngologist at SLENT, where he delivers outstanding care to patients in Mandeville, Slidell, and now Covington, Louisiana.

A native of South Louisiana, Dr. Sorrel graduated as valedictorian of his high school class. He then attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he earned his degree in Biological Sciences with summa cum laude honors. He continued his education at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he received his medical degree.

It was during medical school that Dr. Sorrel met his wife, Emily, a neonatal ICU nurse and fellow LSUHSC graduate. Dr. Sorrel went on to complete a five-year residency in Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he presented research nationally, published in respected journals, and received multiple awards for his contributions.

A devoted family man and proud father of three, Dr. Sorrel enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. His greatest passion, however, is his work as a physician. James Connolly, MD, is a dedicated otolaryngologist at SLENT, a leading otolaryngology practice with multiple locations across Louisiana. Dr. Connolly serves patients at our Mandeville and Covington offices.

Born and raised in Uptown New Orleans, Dr. Connolly attended Metairie Park Country Day High School before earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Millsaps College. After his undergraduate studies, he spent a year at LSU Medical Center (Lyons Clinic), conducting research on nerve regeneration and assisting with cornea transplant procedures.

In 2000, Dr. Connolly obtained his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans. He went on to complete an internship in General Surgery, followed by a Residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. Connolly is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, with a sub-specialty in Sleep Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. He holds active memberships with the Louisiana Academy of Sleep Medicine (LASM), the Louisiana State Medical Society (LSMS), and the St. Tammany Medical Society (STPMS).

Dr. Caballero was born and raised in Cuba. She has lived in Chicago since age 18. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, an honor only bestowed upon a small percentage of each graduating medical school class. She was also awarded The Lederer Foundation Scholarship and the Mary Roberts Scott Memorial Prize for demonstrating leadership and academic excellence during both the basic and clinical science years.

Dr. Caballero completed a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. After her residency, Dr. Caballero completed a one-year fellowship in Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery at the Sinus and Nasal Institute of Florida under the guidance of Dr. Donald Lanza, one of the founding fathers of the field. During her fellowship, she mastered advanced Rhinologic surgical techniques and performed hundreds of complicated nasal, sinus and skull base surgical procedures in both children and adults.

During her training, she conducted multiple research projects and published several papers focusing on allergic rhinitis, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, complications associated with the transpterygoid approach to the lateral skull base and the use of Proton Beam Radiation for the management of Esthesioneuroblastoma. She has presented her research at regional and national meetings including the Chicago Otolaryngologic Society, the American Rhinologic Society, and the North American Skull Base Society. She was a contributing author to the International Consensus on Allergy and Rhinology: Rhinosinusitis (ICAR:RS), one of the landmark publications in the management of Chronic Rhinosinusitis.

In addition to providing tertiary-level care for patients in Park Ridge, Dr. Caballero is an attending physician at the University of Chicago Hospitals, where she helps train the next generations of Otolaryngologists.

Paul Henri Lee Joseph Belanger, DO, is a board-certified osteopathic doctor at West Shore ENT & Allergy. Dr. Belanger specializes in otolaryngology at West Shore ENT & Allergy’s offices in Grand Haven, Muskegon, and Fremont, Michigan, where he diagnoses and treats ear, nose, and throat disorders and injuries for patients of all ages.

Dr. Belanger earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from California State University in Long Beach. Matthew William Cooper, MD, is an otology and otolaryngology specialist at SLENT, an esteemed otolaryngology practice with multiple locations across Louisiana. Dr. Cooper provides care at the Slidell, Mandeville, Covington and Hammond offices, where he offers comprehensive otorhinolaryngology services and advanced surgical expertise.

Dr. Cooper’s specialties include general otolaryngology as well as complex otologic procedures such as tympanoplasty (reconstruction of the middle ear), mastoidectomy for chronic ear conditions, and transmastoid surgeries of the lateral skull base. Additionally, he has extensive knowledge in the clinical and surgical management of thyroid and parathyroid gland disorders.

Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Cooper served as a firefighter and paramedic, a career he continued through his medical training at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport. Rosemary B. Desloge, MD, FACS, a board-certified Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgeon located in New York City, is best known as the ear, nose, and throat specialist for performers. She’s an expert at diagnosing and treating all throat and voice disorders and works one-on-one with each patient to provide individualized, compassionate care in her Manhattan office.

Dr. Desloge completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana, and earned her medical degree from the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. She trained in General Surgery at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina, and Internal Medicine at New York University in New York City., Dr. Desloge then completed her Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgical residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital with rotations at the most prestigious facilities in New York City, including Weill Cornell Hospital, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and Lenox Hill Hospital.

Becoming an ENT/ facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon was a natural decision for me; I experienced firsthand the difference it makes in your life to have a skilled surgeon repair functional and cosmetic problems in the face and neck. After medical school, I came to Chicago to study otolaryngology (ear, nose, and throat medicine) because I wanted to master the anatomy of the head and neck. I went on to complete an advanced fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and started practicing in Chicago.

My patients know that I really care about them and getting the best results for their individual needs. I don’t focus on getting a large number of patients; I’d rather be able to give every patient a lot of time and personal attention, from the detailed consultation to the procedure and follow up.

It’s an exciting time to be an ENT / facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. There are effective, safe new technologies and techniques that involve very little risk and quick recovery time. People don’t have to live with breathing poorly through their nose. I can do a 45-minute procedure that corrects a lot of nasal breathing problems, or combine that with rhinoplasty to achieve great functional and cosmetic results at the same time.

Dr. Dixon lives in downtown Chicago with his wife and three sons. He thinks that Chicago is the best big city in the country. In particular, he loves having so much to do, from jazz music to great restaurants within walking distance of home.

Erika Schettler Huberty, MD, joined the otolaryngology team at Lake Grove ENT in Lake Oswego, Oregon, in January of 2007. She currently practices general ENT with an emphasis on pediatrics.

She is a board-certified otolaryngologist, head and neck surgeon, and received her Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996.  Her medical degree was completed at the University of Texas Southwestern in 2000. She then completed her residency training in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque in 2005.

Dr. Schettler spent an additional year in fellowship training in pediatric otolaryngology at the Pediatric Ear, Nose and Throat Institute of South Texas and trained in laryngology at the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Schettler is board certified in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. 

Dr. Schettler enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. Her hobbies include cooking, running, biking, fly fishing, and skiing.

Robert Furman, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist, head and neck surgeon serving patients in Lake Oswego, Oregon, at Lake Grove ENT. Dr. Furman joined Dr. Maureen Mulcahy in 2002, and their joint practice became Lake Grove ENT. 

Dr. Furman attended medical school at the University Of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York and graduated in 1994. He completed his ENT training at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1999. Dr. Furman has been board certified in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery since 1999 and has been a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngologists since 2000. 

When he is not caring for patients at Lake Grove ENT, Dr. Furman enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He enjoys many outdoor hobbies, including tennis, biking, skiing, scuba diving, boating, and fishing.

Caroline Yang, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist, head and neck surgeon with the team at Lake Grove ENT in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Dr. Yang joined Lake Grove ENT in 2008 and provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for a wide range of ENT ailments. 

Dr. Yang attended medical school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, graduating with her medical degree in 1995. She then completed both her ENT internship and residency training at Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland. Dr. Yang is board certified in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngologists.

Stuti Desai-Markowski, MD, is a board-certified otolaryngologist, head and neck surgeon, at Lake Grove ENT in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Dr. Desai-Markowski (Dr. Desai) treats patients of all ages and provides high-quality and compassionate care.

Dr. Desai grew up in New Jersey, where she stayed to complete her undergraduate and medical education. She attended college at Rutgers University, obtaining a bachelor's in Cell Biology and Neuroscience. In 2017, she completed her MD at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School.

While in medical school, Dr. Desai and her husband volunteered at a community medical center in Moshi, Tanzania.

In 2022, Dr. Desai completed her Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. During that time, she served a diverse adult and pediatric population at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Parkland Hospital, Dallas Children's Medical Center, and the North Texas VA Medical Center.

ENT initially attracted Dr. Desai due to the intricate, complex anatomy of the head and neck. However, her interest deepened as she learned how the specialty enables people to interact better with the world around them. Much of her career fulfillment comes from educating and empowering patients to understand their medical conditions better.

While Dr. Desai enjoys practicing the full scope of Otolaryngology, her professional passions are treating sinus disease, head and neck endocrine disease (thyroid, parathyroid, salivary gland), laryngology, and voice disorders. 

She is trained in minimally invasive endoscopic ear surgery and the latest techniques in sleep surgery, including the Inspire implant. 

Outside of work, Dr. Desai enjoys savoring the small pleasures in life with her loved ones. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with a minor in Business from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, followed by his medical degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He then completed his Otolaryngology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, gaining expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of ENT medical and surgical conditions.   Dedicated to patient-centered care, Dr. McManus takes the time to understand his patients' health concerns and develops personalized treatment plans tailored to their specific needs. His special interests include managing sinus conditions, diagnosing sleep apnea, addressing hearing loss, treating chronic ear infections, and managing allergy symptoms, among other ENT disorders.   Outside the office, Dr. McManus loves staying active and enjoying the natural beauty of Louisiana with his wife and children. Growing up on the Northshore and attending Jesuit High School in New Orleans, he has a deep connection to the area. He spends weekends visiting farmers' markets, supporting local shops and restaurants, exploring bike and walking trails, fishing, hunting, camping, enjoying watersports, and cooking—all activities he’s passionate about.
