He spent time working in the emergency room at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio. He also served as a volunteer teacher for other new doctors as a residency preceptor at Riverside Methodist Hospital’s family practice residency program.

Lily is a passionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) committed to promoting independence and functionality in those she serves. She believes that growth is made possible through the development of nurturing relationships and engagement in meaningful activities. She uses play-based and developmental approaches to assist children in reaching their goals with an emphasis on creating fun and motivating experiences. Jocelin Gamez, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant at Michigan Avenue Primary Care, a multispecialty practice located in The Loop of downtown Chicago, Illinois.
Jocelin earned her Bachelor of Science in biology with a minor in psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During her undergraduate years, she simultaneously worked as a certified pharmacy technician and certified emergency medical technician. She then earned her Master of Science in physician assistant studies at the University of Iowa (Go Hawkeyes!). Her interests include women’s health, providing healthcare to Spanish-speaking populations, and preventative medicine.
Jocelin loves that every day is different and that she gets to meet and build relationships with all kinds of people. She loves the continuity of her education through the ever-changing medical advances. She also enjoys being able to teach her patients while also learning from them.

Dr. Barrett attended Virginia Tech for his undergraduate degree, studying biochemistry. He earned his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Dr. Barrett’s treatment philosophy is one of empowering the patient: “Patients have the right to be heard and to partner with me to create a treatment plan appropriate for their individual needs and situation”. His clinical interests are primary care, preventative medicine and LGBT health.
