Leon Poveda, MD, is a board-certified family physician at Grace Family Medicine Direct Primary Care of Wellington in Wellington, Florida. He graduated from the National Autonomous University of Nicaragua at León. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.

Liliana Awan, MD, FAAFP, AAFP, is a board-certified family physician at Medical Center of Hollywood in Hollywood, Florida. She values her patients’ well-being and works hard to cater to a wide range of health and wellness needs. In order to serve a broad portion of the population, Dr. Awan is fluent in English, Spanish, and Romanian. 

Dr. Awan began her higher education at the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology. She then attended Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, for her medical education. 

After earning her medical degree, Dr. Awan completed a year of residency training in psychiatry at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before completing a family practice residency at Virtua Hospital in New Jersey. There, she served as chief resident. 

After finishing her training, Dr. Awan quickly settled in Florida and opened Medical Center of Hollywood, her private practice. She is affiliated with several hospitals in the area, including Memorial Regional Hospital, Memorial Hospital South, and Memorial Hospital Pembroke, where she is the chief of medicine. 

Dr. Awan holds many certifications and seizes any opportunities to advance her expertise. She is certified in polysubstance abuse detoxification by the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. She also holds a certification in aesthetics from the American Academy of Family Physicians.
