Dr. Sasan Massachi is a board-certified internal medicine specialist located in Beverly Hills, CA. Pouya Shafipour, MD, in Santa Monica, California, is a board-certified family medicine specialist with subspecialty training in a field of medicine known as bariatric or obesity medicine. He uses safe and effective medications in conjunction with dietary, nutritional, behavioral, and exercise counseling to manage obesity and medical conditions related to excessive weight gain or loss.

After finishing his residency, Dr. Shafipour pursued his passion in obesity treatment. Through extensive training by the American Society of Bariatric Physicians and the prestigious Harvard Blackburn Obesity Course, Dr. Shafipour has developed a program that focuses on healthy weight loss and a well-organized maintenance program. His program results in weight loss and maintenance of a healthy weight through a multi-level, personalized approach to dietary and lifestyle transformation.

Dr. Shafipour received his bachelor’s degree in molecular and cell biology from UC Berkeley, then continued his graduate studies and received a master’s degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University. He later attended Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where he received his MD in 2003. He completed his internship in general surgery at UC Irvine and residency in family medicine at UCLA and became board certified in family medicine in 2008.

During a peak performance health and lifestyle coaching conference in 2004, Dr. Shafipour discovered an interest in lifestyle transformation. Following the conference, he personally took some radical measures and transformed his way of eating and implemented daily exercise into his life.

The impact of this transformation encouraged him to further pursue incorporating the idea of a sustainable, healthy lifestyle into his practice of medicine. Dr. Shafipour continued his training in bariatric medicine by taking courses offered through the American Society of Bariatric Physicians.

Behzad Souferzade, DO, (aka Dr. Soufer) is a leading family medicine doctor at CHAP Med in Sherman Oaks, California. He brings a unique, holistic individualized, patient-partner approach to care. 

Praised for his expert skill and compassionate bedside manner, Dr. Soufer offers comprehensive treatment, management, and preventative care for a wide variety of conditions and diseases, including depression, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, urgent care needs, asthma, and diabetes. He also performs routine screenings, such as pap smears and STD testing.

Dr. Soufer earned a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry at UCLA, followed by a medical degree in osteopathic medicine at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine (TUCOM). Arash Nikamal, DO, (aka “Dr. Nik”) is a family medicine physician at CHAP Med, located in Sherman Oaks, California. He joined the practice in New York. He has years of experience in hospital medicine and urgent care medicine. Having lived in Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles, he prides himself in serving patients in the largest metropolitan communities in the country.

Earning his Bachelor of Science in biology from Loyola University Chicago, he then went on to medical school at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine, New York. Dr. Nik moved on to an internship and residency at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, where he met Dr. Soufer. Dr. Nik joined Dr. Soufer as Chief Resident during their training together.

After residency, Dr. Nik spent two years working at Long Beach Memorial Hospital as a hospitalist. Serving the surrounding community allowed him to hone his skills in treating highly acute patients in a level 2 trauma hospital. Dr. Nik now joins Dr. Soufer in their practice in Sherman Oaks.

Dr. Nik prides himself on being thorough yet focused in his medical care. He focuses on heart health, cholesterol management, diet and exercise planning, and diabetes management. Dr. Nik embraces new trends in medicine, such as the implementation of the Mediterranean and ketogenic diets, to patients. Brigitte Solorzano is a Board Certified Physician Assistant practicing in Internal Medicine - Primary Care. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Biology and a minor Psychology at Mount Saint Mary's University in Los Angeles, CA.
