Dr. Lauren Hatherall is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who is passionate about building meaningful relationships with her patients and helping them achieve lifelong health through a preventative, evidence-based approach to care. A San Antonio native, Dr. Hatherall was born and raised in the area and is proud to serve the community she calls home. She was a collegiate soccer player before earning her medical degree from the University of the Incarnate Word School of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine residency training at Baylor Scott & White. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Hatherall enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children, Molly (5) and Archie (2). She loves being outdoors, making memories with her family, and exploring new restaurants around San Antonio.

Jordan C. Williams, MD is a Family Physician from Longview, TX. He completed his medical training at Saint Matthew’s University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the rural branch of the University of Cincinnati. He believes the patient-provider relationship is essential for effective and compassionate care. Dr. Williams treats many chronic and acute diseases, performs minor office procedures and provides primary care counseling as well. He worked in Sarasota, Florida providing primary and urgent care and recently provided primary care for the United States Air Force in San Antonio, TX.

Susanne Brandt, RN, MSN, FNP-C, is a dedicated family nurse practitioner at Lonestar Medical in New Braunfels, Texas, with over 30 years of nursing experience. 

Born in San Antonio, Susanne traveled extensively before returning home in 1993. She earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Texas in El Paso and her master's degree in nursing from Texas A&M in Corpus Christi, becoming a family nurse practitioner. Board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Susanne specializes in family medicine and focuses on building lasting relationships with her patients and their families.

At Lonestar Medical, Susanne is passionate about preventive care. She offers services such as well-woman exams and expertly manages chronic conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes. Her extensive experience equips her with a deep understanding of the nursing profession, enabling her to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Outside of her clinical practice, Susanne loves spending quality time with her four grandchildren, exploring museums, attending art exhibits, and enjoying musical performances. Her commitment to family values and community well-being underscores her holistic approach to healthcare.

After residency, Dr. Terry served for 4 years in the Air Force as a Family Practice Physician and a Flight Surgeon. He separated honorably after serving his country and the airmen who keep us safe. Since then, he has been working Emergency Room medicine and opened Mercy Wellness Clinic in April 2018. He has a unique skill set that allows him to take care of almost any medical issue from the most common to the most critical.

Comprehensive Primary Care opened its doors in 2015 as a solo physician owned Family Medicine Practice. Our goal is to provide primary care to our community with a comprehensive approach: instead of addressing only one complaint, we take the time to look at the entire individual. Dr. Obinna Uzowulu incorporates his experience as a Hospitalist and Emergency Medicine physician in his practice, which allows him to care for a broad variety of acute and chronic medical conditions. Our main focus is preventive medicine: in the U.S. preventive care is readily available but woefully underutilized. Our goal is to encourage healthy living through preventive care and responsible lifestyle choices. Frank Lee, MD, is a family and emergency medicine physician with decades of experience. GLP-1 weight loss provider, specialist and coach He enjoys practicing medicine at North Tex MedCare Clinic and Urgent Care, which has convenient locations in Allen, Addison, Fort Worth, and San Antonio, Texas. He also provides telemedicine service and is able to see patients online all over the US. 

Dr. Lee earned his medical degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Zapopan, Mexico, and New York Medical College in New York City. After graduation, he completed a residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin.

He is now involved with weight loss speciality with GLP-1 weight loss and coaching and support.  Years of experience in telemedicine, primary care, urgent care and emergency medicine, Dr. Lee has extensive experience providing responsive care to patients. He has also treats patients for weight loss with todays current medication of Tirzepatide and Semaglutide. . He has been an advocate for telemedicine since it rose in popularity around 2008 and continues to integrate remote care into his work.

Dr. Lee’s well-rounded expertise also includes weight loss, primary care, urgent care. pediatrics, dermatology, and psychiatry, allowing him to provide primary care services for patients of all ages. He specializes in GLP-1 weight loss and maintenance, chronic disease management, cold and flu care, injury treatment, and other conditions that demand prompt attention.

Michael Maloy, MD, believes that everyone deserves access to highly skilled medical practitioners in a setting designed for his patients’ comfort. Through his leadership role at Sigma Primary Care, Dr. Maloy provides unparalleled care, personalized to meet the needs of his patients in and around San Antonio, Texas.

Education has always been a central focus for Dr. Maloy. He began his studies at the University of Texas at San Antonio, earning his undergraduate degree in biology. He remained at UT San Antonio to complete his medical degree from the School of Medicine. 

Dr. Maloy completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Regional Academic Health Center in Harlingen, Texas, where he then served as an assistant professor of medicine. 

He continues to seek out opportunities to expand his skills and knowledge through ongoing education. 

Dr. Maloy founded Sigma Primary Care in 2016. Over the years, the practice has become an invaluable resource to patients in the Central Texas region. They appreciate how the team takes time to get to know them and their unique set of health needs and goals. 

When not working with patients, Dr. Maloy can be found spending time with his family and enjoying time outdoors hiking in the San Antonio area. He also enjoys weight training as a means of staying healthy and active. 

Shannon Wait was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended University of Akron in Ohio for her undergraduate studies where she received her Bachelor of Science (BSN) in Nursing.

She went to work at UF Health Shands Hospital and worked in the Neuro ICU while completing her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of South Florida.

From there, she spent 2 years working in an Allergy and Asthma clinic, 1 year in Pain Management, and 1 year in Orthopedics/Sports Medicine. She moved to San Antonio with her husband who is in the Air Force and is stationed at Lackland AFB. They have one daughter and two dogs.

Currently she works in a busy practice doing primary care, urgent care, personal injury, workers compensation, and hormone replacement therapies.

She does minor injections such as trigger points and joint injections as well as minor procedures like toenail removals, biopsies, and suturing lacerations.

Dr. Karen Architect is nationally certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a family nurse practitioner who specializes in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, Diabetes, Heart Disease, and Weight Loss. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Texas Tech University HSC, graduating with honors, Magna Cum Laude. In 2012, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Texas Tech University HSC and in 2018 completed her studies by earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice at University of the Incarnate Word. She is the owner of Heart Healthy Family Practice, PLLC. where the focus is providing meaningful care and a better quality of life to our patients. Dr. Architect has provided healthcare in the greater San Antonio area for over 22 years; and is dedicated to meeting both immediate and long-term goals by developing a lifestyle plan, targeting the underlying health issues, and always putting patient’s needs first.

Helo Chen, DO, is an experienced Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine at Serenity Medical Centers. Dr. Chen provides all his patients with high-quality, comprehensive care from two locations in Austin and San Antonio, Texas.

He graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He went on to pursue his medical degree at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNT Health Science Center) in Fort Worth. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the university’s Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1994.

His training continued at the Columbia Bay Area Medical Center in Corpus Christi, where he completed a traditional rotating internship and family practice residency.

Next, Dr. Chen moved to Houston and worked in various clinics from the suburbs to the underserved regions. During this time, he also served in various community positions, including the Vice Presidency of the Houston branch of the Texas Osteopathic Medical Association (TOMA).

Since 2005, he has focused on State and Federal Worker’s Injury Compensation in his practice. As his patients testify, Dr. Chen likes to get to know each patient on a personal level so he can customize a treatment plan that best suits the needs of each patient and maximizes their recovery.

Melhem Dandan, MD, FACOG, FAAFP, is board-certified in both OB/GYN and Family Medicine, giving him the unique training and experience needed to manage his patients at the Harlandale Clinic in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Dandan received his medical degree from Damascus University School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria. He then completed his family practice residency training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and a second residency in OB/GYN at the University of California, Los Angeles, Kern Medical Center.

He practiced medicine in Merced, California, for seven years, where he served as the medical director of a women’s health clinic and in the Department of Public Health. During this time, he was a member of the teaching faculty at the University of California, Davis, and the San Joaquin Valley Community Colleges to help train future generations of nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

After moving to beautiful San Antonio, Dr. Dandan owned and operated a successful OB/GYN clinic on the southside before joining forces with the Baptist Health System and Steward Medical Group. He continued his passion for teaching and is currently an associate faculty at the UIW, teaching medical students and residents in his offices and during his rounds in the hospitals.

Dr. Dandan is affiliated with several San Antonio hospitals. He performs gynecologic robotic surgeries, major pelvic and obstetrical surgeries, minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgeries, and incontinence surgeries, and does office family planning procedures, aesthetics, and hormonal pellets insertions for proper candidates.

Ashwin Gowda, MD is board certified in sleep medicine. He has been providing care to those in South Austin since 2002 and is currently the Medical Director of Texas Sleep Medicine. His medical practice offers consultations, sleep studies (in the lab and at home studies) and all ongoing care to ensure the best possible outcome. Common sleep disorders diagnosed and treated include snoring/obstructive sleep apnea, restless legs syndrome, insomnia, parasomnias and circadian rhythm disorders.
