Dr. Kacmar is an independent family physician who is board-certified in both primary care and sports medicine. A former collegiate football athlete and active adult, Dr. Kacmar recognizes the value of preventing and treating sports injuries from the young school age athlete through the aging adult. With a focus in primary care, Dr. Kacmar is able to care for all ages from routine medical care, preventative exam or acute care needs. Dr. Kacmar remains an admitting physician at Edward Hospital.

With a Master of Science in Nursing from Lewis University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Purdue University of Calumet, Hanifa has a strong educational foundation. Additionally, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Chicago State University. Her comprehensive training includes a fellowship program at WellNow Urgent Care, where she specialized in acute care with an emphasis on evidence-based practice.

At WellNow Urgent Care, Hanifa managed the daily care of patients, addressing both adult and pediatric acute illnesses and injuries. Her proficiency extends to performing physical exams, ordering and evaluating lab tests, managing medications, and conducting procedures such as suturing, splinting, incision and drainage (I&D), and vaginal exams. She also performed Department of Transportation exams for CDL employee physicals and workers' compensation exams.

Hanifa has extensive experience managing a multitude of chronic illnesses, including cardiovascular, neurological, gastrointestinal, diabetes, thyroid, asthma, chronic pain, and behavioral health issues like depression and anxiety. Meet Dr. Kristina Passarelli, DNP, FNP-BC — a seasoned Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience and a passion for delivering care that truly connects. Dr. Aleksandr Podolskiy is a board-certified Family Practice Medical Doctor, who works with patients of all ages in the Libertyville and Lake County area, including those who are Russian or Polish speaking. Dr. Podolskiy began his medical training in the Ukraine, his native country. He then went on to complete a Family Practice residency at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan. 

As a Family Practice physician, Dr. Podolskiy helps patients with a wide range of medical needs. His training spans multiple areas, including pediatrics, general internal medicine, orthopedics, gynecology, psychiatry and family counseling. Dr. Podolskiy frequently follows his patients while they are in these facilities as well. James Hawkins, DO, is a vein specialist certified by the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine, with over 30 years of experience. At Fox Valley Vein Centers, Dr. Hawkins serves patients living in and around Sandwich, Yorkville, and Aurora, Illinois.

Dr. Hawkins was born just outside of Chicago in Evergreen Park. He earned his undergraduate degree from Benedictine College, located in Lisle, Illinois, followed by his medical degree from the Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Downers Grove, Illinois. Dr. Hawkins then completed his subsequent residency at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, located in Chicago.

Today, Dr. Hawkins is a registered vascular technologist and a registered physician in vascular interpretation. At Fox Valley Vein Centers, he offers effective solutions for several common vascular conditions, including spider veins and varicose veins. Dr. Hawkins routinely performs vein treatments, including sclerotherapy, ambulatory phlebectomy, and endovenous ablation using the VenaCure EVLT® system.
