Barbara Garcia, MD, is a primary care physician. She serves patients at HealthyU Clinics at our Glendale, Arizona, clinic.
Dr. Garcia attended medical school at The University of California, Los Angeles, where she graduated in 1996. She then moved to Phoenix, Arizona, to start a residency at St. Joseph's Hospital, where she completed two years of OB/GYN training. She then transferred to the Department of Family Medicine, graduating in 2000.
Dr. Garcia was in private practice in the Maryvale community of Phoenix from 2000-2016, then joined Abrazo Medical Group from 2016-2022. Dr. Garcia began working at HealthyU Clinics in December 2022 when Abrazo-West Olive Family Medicine joined HealthyU Clinics. She is excited to continue caring for her long-term patients.
Dr. Garcia enjoys diabetes care, primary prevention, women’s health, and adolescent care. She also works part-time as a clinical faculty for the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Phoenix, where she teaches student doctors how to interview patients, perform physical exams, and develop their clinical and critical thinking skills.
She enjoys being the "contractor" for patients' healthcare needs and works with specialists (aka subcontractors) to manage total care.
Originally from Southern California, Dr. Garcia often travels back to visit family and friends. She is married with three teenage sons and a furry little guy who all keep her busy and happy.
Nicholas Werth, PA-C, is a physician assistant. He serves patients in Glendale and Phoenix, Arizona, at the HealthyU Clinics Phoenix – 31st Ave. clinic and the Glendale – West Olive Ave. clinic.
Nicholas was born and raised in Minnesota. He attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis as an undergraduate, receiving his bachelor’s degree in physiology in 2015. He then completed his physician assistant training at Touro University Nevada in Henderson in 2021. After graduating, Nicholas moved to Phoenix and joined HealthyU Clinics in early 2022.
Nicholas enjoys taking the time to provide education to his patients. He believes in employing shared decision-making with patients to ensure compliance with the treatment plan and to maintain patient autonomy. He is also passionate about mental health and enjoys working closely with the behavioral health management staff to help meet the needs of his patients.
When he’s not seeing patients, Nicholas can find him spending time with his girlfriend and their dog, playing golf, watching sports, working on his car, cooking, or trying new restaurants.
Norma is a high-impact social work professional with great experience working with diverse populations. She received her Master of Social Work degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and has primarily worked as a school-based counselor in Phoenix, utilizing individual, group, and family approaches. Now with HealthyU Clinics, she’s excited to drive positive patient outcomes in an integrated care setting. She loves spending time with her family and friends and can be found hanging out at various coffee shops throughout the Valley.
Norma is bilingual and can see Spanish or English speaking patients. She is available in-person at our Glendale clinic, or online via telehealth.
Siomara Hercules is a certified Nurse Practitioner with over eight years of nursing experience in orthopedic trauma, palliative care, and colorectal surgery. Her diverse clinical background has shaped her into a well-rounded provider who approaches patient care with empathy, attention to detail, and a deep respect for each individual’s unique health journey.
Siomara earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and her Master of Science in Nursing from United States University. She chose to specialize in urology because of her passion for helping patients feel comfortable, informed, and empowered—especially when navigating personal and often sensitive health concerns.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Siomara is committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all patients.
Outside of work, Siomara is a proud mom of three and can often be found cheering from the sidelines at her kids' sports games or exploring new restaurants around town. She brings the same energy, warmth, and curiosity to her personal life as she does to every patient encounter.
Francisco Hernández, MD, is a dedicated general physician and the founder of Clinica Medica Hispana, a trusted medical practice serving the Phoenix, Arizona, community since 1998. With decades of experience in primary care and patient-centered medicine, Dr. Hernández is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive healthcare that supports both physical and mental well-being.
Dr. Hernández earned his medical degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in 1974. Early in his career, he traveled throughout northern Mexico to expand his medical knowledge and gain valuable clinical experience. After immigrating to the United States, he completed the required medical examinations and began practicing medicine in Arizona, where he continues to serve patients with dedication and care.
At Clinica Medica Hispana, Dr. Hernández focuses on building meaningful relationships with patients by listening carefully to their concerns and developing personalized treatment plans. His holistic approach to healthcare emphasizes prevention, early diagnosis, and addressing both physical and emotional health needs.
In addition to general medical care, Dr. Hernández is authorized by USCIS to perform immigration medical examinations (Form I-693) for individuals applying for immigration benefits in the United States.

Robert Claflin, DO, CAQSM, is a primary care and sports medicine doctor. He serves patients at HealthyU Clinics at our Gilbert and Chandler, Arizona, clinics.
Dr. Claflin started his training in the health field at Arizona State University in Tempe, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in exercise and wellness. In 2017, he graduated from Midwestern Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, Arizona.
In 2020, Dr. Claflin completed his family medicine residency at East Carolina University in Greenville, South Carolina, and his sports medicine fellowship in 2021.
Including treating patients of all ages, he has worked with high school, collegiate division I, and professional athletes throughout his training and in practice in the sports medicine field. In 2021, he returned to Arizona to work in private practice family medicine and sports medicine.
Dr. Claflin joined HealthyU Clinics in 2022. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, trying out new restaurants, traveling, going to the movies, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Ricardo La Grotta, MD is a primary care physician. He serves patients at HealthyU Clinics at our Chandler, Arizona clinic.
With over two decades of medical experience, Dr. La Grotta brings his passion and commitment to HealthyU Clinics. Motivated by the organization's dedication to prioritizing patients, he joins with enthusiasm and a belief that the clinic is truly upholding the oath in primary care by putting people first.
Having spent his formative years in diverse regions such as South America, the Caribbean, and the Pacific Northwest, Dr. La Grotta has cultivated a unique perspective. His focus on Primary Care and Urgent Care stems from a seamless blend of practical experience and scientific knowledge.
Although his family has been in the Pacific Northwest for four decades, Dr. La Grotta eagerly embraces Arizona as his new home. He looks forward to immersing himself in the beauty of the state, connecting with its vibrant communities, and indulging in the rich gastronomy that Arizona has to offer.
