Steffanie Schwutke, MD, is a board-certified Family Practice physician who brings significant medical experience to Rochester Primary Care. The practice serves people living in and around Rochester Hills, Michigan, and throughout Oakland County.
Dr. Schwutke began her career at Providence Hospital, Southfield as a resident. Upon graduation, she practiced Family medicine in the Warren, Michigan, area for several years before joining Rochester Primary Care in 2022. She practices with an emphasis on Women's health and minor surgeries.
Dr. Schwutke also provides comprehensive medical care in hospital settings and on an outpatient basis at Rochester Primary Care. She is on staff at Beaumont in Troy, Michigan, and Ascension, Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Dr. Schwutke is certified in advanced cardiac life support as well as basic life support. She proudly holds membership in several professional organizations, including the Michigan Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

“Things that happened during my new patient appointment with Dr. Schwutke that were completely unacceptable and concerning:
1. I haven’t had a physical in two years and asked for basic bloodwork, her response was “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again,” suggesting having the full blood panel I had in 2022 was somehow adequate. I must have missed where it’s abnormal to ask at a new patient appointment for basic bloodwork as a level set. Never encountered this complaint before.
2. After explaining my mom and several family members have had thyroid cancer, I asked about getting a yearly thyroid panel. She asked “why would you do that?” (I think the answer should be obvious given the family history of cancer I mentioned 2 minutes prior).
3. When discussing potential fertility struggles, she said “the only people pregnancy comes easily for are women who don’t want it. Women are always crying in my office because they are pregnant or because they aren’t. Life just isn’t fair.”
After being left in the exam room alone for at least 20 minutes waiting for bloodwork I was apparently crazy to ask for in the first place, I walked out. Will tell everyone I can to avoid this physician at all costs.”
