Dr. Gholami is an experienced gastroenterologist who specializes in all aspects of gastroenterology and liver disease. He is an expert in diagnostic, therapeutic, interventional endoscopy, and is particularly passionate about complex pancreatic and biliary diseases. Dr. Gholami completed medical school with honors at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. After completing residency in internal medicine at University of Southern California (USC Medical Center) he continued his fellowship training in gastroenterology, hepatology (liver disease), and nutrition at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU Medical Center). He then pursued advanced fellowship in interventional endoscopy including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatograpthy (ERCP) at Kansas University (KU Medical Center). He then joined as a faculty member and assistant professor in the Division of Gastroenterology at University of North Dakota's major teaching hospital.

Dr. Sachdeva grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated with honors from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, a magnet school of math and science. He pursued his medical training mainly in New York, completing his medical degree and internal medicine residency training at New York Medical College. 

After residency, Dr. Sachdeva served on the medical faculty at New York Medical College before relocating to Chapel Hill. He completed his training with a fellowship in gastroenterology from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Sachdeva is board-certified in both gastroenterology and hepatology.

He joined the practice right after graduating from UNC.  The majority of his practice is concentrated in the North Raleigh and Wake Forest area. Some of his clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, high-risk colo-rectal cancer, and hepatology. He presently serves as the Director of Endoscopy at Wake Endoscopy Center.

Dr. Christopher Schwarz is a Michigan native. He graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit with his medical degree.  He completed his internal medicine residency at Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago before relocating to the Southeast to do his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Medical College of Virginia.  Dr. Schwarz is board certified in gastroenterology and hepatology. 

He joined the group in 1998.  Some of his clinical interest include biliary and pancreatic diseases, therapeutic endoscopy, and inflammatory bowel disease.  Dr. Schwarz has been involved with fundraising for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and the Cancer Hospital at Rex Healthcare.

He lives in North Raleigh with his wife and has four children.  He enjoys traveling and water sports with his family, foreign travel, as well as drawing and sculpture.  Dr. Schwarz is also proficient in Spanish.  He and his family attend Open Door Baptist Church.
