Dr. McMorrow completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California – Davis, earning his Bachelor of Science degree. From there, he moved to Missouri to pursue his medical degree at St. Louis University, where he would later also complete his internal medicine residency.  

A member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Dr. McMorrow prioritizes ongoing education and makes every effort to stay on top of the latest developments in his field.

Andrew Lange, MD, FACP provides comprehensive gastroenterology care at Wake Endoscopy. He is proud to provide a compassionate approach to patient care for the communities of Raleigh, Wake Forest, Cary, Clayton, and Wilson, North Carolina.   

Dr. Lange grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota. He earned his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and then went on to obtain a Master of Science in physiology from Georgetown University. He pursued medical training at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Medical Honor societies while studying at Tulane. 

Following his graduation, Dr. Lange completed his internal medicine residency at Yale University. He remained on the medical staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital as an attending physician in hospital medicine. Dr. Lange completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in the Boston area before joining Wake Endoscopy in 2022.

Dr. Lange’s clinical interests include eosinophilic esophagitis, colon cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and hepatology. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts on topics in gastroenterology. He finds the most fulfillment when connecting with patients through active listening and compassionate care of the entire patient.

He lives in Cary with his wife and daughter. He is an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Liverpool Football Club. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, cycling, traveling, and toddler gymnastics classes with his daughter.

About Dr. Michael Battaglino, MD

Dr. Battaglino was born in upstate New York and remained in the Empire State for the majority of his education.  After receiving his medical degree at New York Medical College, he completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in NY.  Following his residency, Dr. Battaglino relocated to North Carolina to complete his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Duke University.

He is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology.  He joined Raleigh Medical Group in July of 2000 and has since been an invaluable member of our Gastroenterology Team.  He treats a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal diseases, but has a more focused interest in inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Battaglino lives in Raleigh with his wife Tracy.  He spends most of his free time enjoying activities involving his four children.  His other joys in life include traveling, working out at the gym, keeping up with the Carolina Hurricanes, and his rabid obsession with his precious Pittsburgh Steelers.

He specializes in complex endoscopic procedures to aid in the management of patients with benign and malignant GI conditions. 

Dr. Jagannath was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins, was the Director of the Advanced Endoscopy Program, and authored numerous research and academic publications. He lectured both in the United States and internationally. He founded the Johns Hopkins Pancreatitis Center and joined the team at Wake Endoscopy after serving as the Director of the Pancreas Center at Mercy Medical Center.

Dr. Ancha was raised as the daughter of a gastroenterologist. She committed early to a career in medicine and graduated from the accelerated BA/MD program at the University of Missouri Kansas City.

Maria Lufrano, MD, is a specialist in the field of gastroenterology and hepatology. She has remained actively involved in research throughout her career and has published several scientific papers and presented at national scientific meetings. She is double board-certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine.

Dr. Lufrano is committed to the highest level of patient care. She employs the latest technology to provide an individualized approach to patient medical needs. Her primary focus is preventive and integrative medicine as well as conventional medicine. She has incorporated the effects of nutrition and diet into the treatment plans of her patients. She understands the importance of treating the body as a whole and the positive impact of treating ailments using an integrative approach. He worked at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center as Research Chair of Hospital Medicine and Assistant Professor of Medicine. He was honored with “Fellow of American College of Physicians (FACP)”. He completed a Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship at State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate, Syracuse, New York. He was awarded “The Best Fellow” during his fellowship. He finished his Advanced Interventional Endoscopy (ERCP/EUS) Fellowship at Carilion Clinic, Roanoke, Virginia.

He strives to provide the best care possible to his patients which is comprehensive, evidence based, and state-of-art with involvement of the patient and family. He Joined the Raleigh Medical Group Gastroenterology, Wake Endoscopy, and Wilson Digestive Diseases Center in 2019.

He specializes in advanced interventional endoscopic procedures like endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), Spyglass cholangioscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) with fine needle aspiration, and pancreatic cyst drainage with stent placement. He performed the first pancreatic cyst drainage (cystogastrostomy) with stent placement at WakeMed Raleigh and WakeMed Cary.

A native of Smithville, MS, she graduated valedictorian of her high school class and went on to graduate cum laude from Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. About Dr. Richard Allen, CRNA

Dr. Allen attended medical school at UNC and performed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia where he also served as Chief Fellow and completed a sub fellowship in Pancreatobiliary Medicine.  He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  He originally joined Raleigh Medical Group in 1991.  He and his wife, Dr. Jill Allen, who are both from very rural areas, moved to the country in Southern Virginia to slow down some, raise a family along the shores of Kerr Lake, and devote themselves to the practice of their specialties in very underserved areas.  Dr. Allen closed his practice after 21 years of service and has rejoined his friends, both old and new, at Raleigh Medical Group.  And he admits, he is having a blast!  

Dr. Allen has won Clinician of the Year Awards from both UNC and Duke University Medical Center.  He won the Presidents Award from the Virginia GI Society for his work in converting the ACG Williamsburg Conference from a local speakers’ conference to the third largest academic GI conference in America.  He very much enjoys teaching at both the medical student and community levels.

In his free time, Dr. Allen enjoys spending time with his family and church.  He and his wife are active members of Clarksville Presbyterian Church.
