Dr. Battaglino was born in upstate New York and remained in the Empire State for the majority of his education.  After receiving his medical degree at New York Medical College, he completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in NY.  Following his residency, Dr. Battaglino relocated to North Carolina to complete his Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Duke University.

He is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology.  He joined Raleigh Medical Group in July of 2000 and has since been an invaluable member of our Gastroenterology Team.  He treats a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal diseases, but has a more focused interest in inflammatory bowel disease.

He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha and Gold Humanism Medical Honor societies while studying at Tulane. 

Following his graduation, Dr. Lange completed his internal medicine residency at Yale University. He remained on the medical staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital as an attending physician in hospital medicine. Dr. Lange completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in the Boston area before joining Wake Endoscopy in 2022.

Dr. Lange’s clinical interests include eosinophilic esophagitis, colon cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and hepatology. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts on topics in gastroenterology. He finds the most fulfillment when connecting with patients through active listening and compassionate care of the entire patient.

About Dr. Richard Allen, CRNA

Dr. Allen attended medical school at UNC and performed his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia where he also served as Chief Fellow and completed a sub fellowship in Pancreatobiliary Medicine.  He is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology.  He originally joined Raleigh Medical Group in 1991.  He and his wife, Dr. Jill Allen, who are both from very rural areas, moved to the country in Southern Virginia to slow down some, raise a family along the shores of Kerr Lake, and devote themselves to the practice of their specialties in very underserved areas.  Dr. Allen closed his practice after 21 years of service and has rejoined his friends, both old and new, at Raleigh Medical Group.  And he admits, he is having a blast!  

Dr. Allen has won Clinician of the Year Awards from both UNC and Duke University Medical Center.  He won the Presidents Award from the Virginia GI Society for his work in converting the ACG Williamsburg Conference from a local speakers’ conference to the third largest academic GI conference in America.  He very much enjoys teaching at both the medical student and community levels.

In his free time, Dr. Allen enjoys spending time with his family and church.  He and his wife are active members of Clarksville Presbyterian Church.

About Dr. Neeraj Sachdeva, MD

Neeraj Sachdeva, MD, is an accomplished gastroenterologist on the team at Wake Endoscopy. He is proud to serve patients throughout Raleigh, Wake Forest, Cary, Clayton, and Wilson, North Carolina. 

Dr. Sachdeva grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated with honors from the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, a magnet school of math and science. He pursued his medical training mainly in New York, completing his medical degree and internal medicine residency training at New York Medical College. 

After residency, Dr. Sachdeva served on the medical faculty at New York Medical College before relocating to Chapel Hill. He completed his training with a fellowship in gastroenterology from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Sachdeva is board-certified in both gastroenterology and hepatology.

He joined the practice right after graduating from UNC.  The majority of his practice is concentrated in the North Raleigh and Wake Forest area. Some of his clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, high-risk colo-rectal cancer, and hepatology. He presently serves as the Director of Endoscopy at Wake Endoscopy Center.

Dr. Sachdeva lives in Raleigh with his wife and two daughters. In his free time, he is very active in managing “dads-N-daughter” activities. Some of his personal interests include biking, rafting, and traveling with his family.
