His neurosurgical training included chief resident positions at The Methodist Hospital, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Ben Taub General Hospital, Texas Children’s Hospital and the Michael E. DeBakey Veteran’s Affairs Hospital.
Following his residency, was a fellowship in complex and minimally invasive spine surgery and a preceptorship in cerebrovascular surgery.
Dr. Desaloms graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1988 Summa Cum Laude. He then graduated from Baylor College of Medicine in 1992. He completed a residency in Neurosurgery in 1998 after an internship in General Surgery at Baylor in 1993. He was Chief Resident in Neurosurgery from 1997-1998.

Dr. Zachary Johnson holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Mississippi College, where he graduated with honors in 2011. After that, he completed medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, earning his MD in 2016. During his time in medical school, he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies, was selected by his peers for induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and received the UMMC Neurosurgery Merit Award.
Following medical school, Dr. Johnson completed both his residency in neurosurgery and a spine surgery fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.
