Tushar Shetty, MD joined the team at Capital Women's Care Frederick in 2024. Raised in Metro Detroit, Dr. Shetty completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, earning a Bachelor of Science in both Neuroscience and Spanish in 2014. He then worked as a secondary education teacher through Teach for America in Southwest Detroit. Through that experience, he gained an interest in health education, especially in teen pregnancy as the school accommodated pregnant students. This brought him to medicine, where he completed his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 2020, further growing his passion for women's health. He stayed in Detroit to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Detroit Medical Center - Hutzel Women's Hospital in 2024.
Dr. Shetty is passionate about holistic obstetric and gynecologic care, offering comprehensive services and acute care. He is training in minimally invasive surgery. His interests include uterine fibroids management and contraceptive care. He understands his unique position as a provider allows him to serve as an advocate for women, and aspires to provide longitudinal care from adolescence to post-menopause. After completing her undergraduate degree, graduating summa cum laude, from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Dr. Young was accepted into medical school.
