Laura April Gago, MD, is a board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and infertility
specialist, as well as the medical director of Gago Center for Fertility, serving the
Midwest.

After graduating from medical school at the University of California at San Diego, Dr.
Gago returned to Ann Arbor to complete her obstetrics and gynecology residency at
the University of Michigan.

Following her residency, Dr. Gago went on to complete a fellowship at Wayne State
University in Detroit, a three year fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and
infertility there she ultimately accepted an assistant clinical professor position. Just
one year later, Dr. Gago became the University of Michigan In Vitro Fertilization Medical Director, during which time she developed the Fertility Preservation Program and the Donor Oocyte Program.

Lana Powell, MD, provides personalized care to her patients at Comprehensive Women’s Health, with locations in Oxford and Birmingham, Michigan. She is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with more than 27 years of experience.

A Michigan native, Dr. Powell has remained in her home state throughout her career. She attended the Wayne State University of Medicine in Detroit and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, where she continues to be a part of the attending staff. She was also previously a faculty physician at the University of Michigan, specializing in general obstetrics and gynecology.

Amy Heeringa, M.D., is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Heeringa provides compassionate gynecological care to patients in Rochester Hills, Troy and Lenox, at Oakland Macomb Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C. 

Dr. Heeringa obtained both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She went on to complete her residency at The Cleveland Clinic and MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. 

At Oakland Macomb Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C., Dr. Heeringa sees women for a wide range of women’s health needs. She has special interests in normal pregnancy, general gynecology, minimally invasive surgery, contraception, menstrual disorders, menopause, and abnormal Pap smears. Dr. Heeringa is a NAMS certified provider in the area of menopause. Dr. Heeringa also has specialty training in robotic and single-incision robotic hysterectomy.

Dr. Chae was born in South Korea and moved to Canada with her family at a young age. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Biotechnology at University of Windsor where she also received her Master of Business Administration which she completed in Rouen, France. She worked in hospital administration in Toronto before pursuing her medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine.

During her medical school, she was recognized for her service to the community and received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award for her compassion in delivery of care, respect for patients and their families. She completed her residency at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak and was active in the Michigan Section of American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Chae is passionate about women’s health and empowering women through education and advocacy. She enjoys taking care of patients at all stages of life. In residency, she was recognized for excellence in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Sophie Harrison, MSN, CNM, WHNP, is a certified nurse-midwife on the team at Oakland Macomb Obstetrics & Gynecology, P.C. She cares for patients throughout Rochester Hills, Troy, and Lenox, Michigan.

Sophie completed her Master of Science in Nurse Midwifery at Yale School of Nursing. Prior to earning her Master's degree, she received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, with a major in ecology. During her midwifery program she worked as a nurse at a freestanding birth center. She worked as a midwife in New York's Hudson Valley and Kalamazoo before returning home to southeast Michigan to provide care in 2021.

Sophie's professional interests include preventive and preconception care and perinatal education. She loves supporting patients and families of all kinds throughout their pregnancy, labor, and postpartum journey. Dr. Yoon has been in practice since 2011, primarily in Southwest Michigan. He grew up in Florida and received his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry/Biochemistry at the University of South Florida in Tampa. 

Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Yoon moved to Iowa to pursue his Doctor of Osteopathy at Des Moines University. He completed his OB/GYN residency in the St. John Hospital system. 

Dr. Yoon enjoys all aspects of women’s health, most especially the wonderful relationships he is able to build with his patients over the years and the opportunity to care for them through all phases of life.

She earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, graduating with honors in obstetrics and gynecology. Following medical school, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. 

She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
