I am a very experienced pediatrician with extensive education and training in several tertiary institutions across the globe. I have deep compassion for children and their families and this reflects in the type of practice we run. With the child at the center of our philosophy, we do everything possible to ensure access to the medical home and primary care irrespective of what time of the day it is. We provide primary care services up to 9 pm daily. We also ensure that our patients have access to us through telemedicine/evisits and direct to doctor messaging from the comfprt of their homes and phones. Our clinic has minimal waiting times, and online appointment booking which makes for a better patient experience. Part of my clinical interest is in lactation for mothers. I partake in community training of health teams for lactation. I am also board certified in Obesity Medicine and do help patients of all ages maintain healthy weights.

Dr. Kaamilah Barnett is an Atlanta native. After completing her undergraduate studies in Kentucky, she earned her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. She subsequently returned to Atlanta and completed her residency at Emory University School of Medicine. 

Dr. Barnett is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is particularly interested in breastfeeding and adolescent medicine. She believes in building strong relationships with families and providing comprehensive care tailored to each child's unique needs.

Robert C. Platner, MD, brings more than 20 years of experience in pediatric medicine to Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics, serving children and adolescents in Atlanta, Georgia, and throughout Fulton County. 

Dr. Platner was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He began his professional pursuits at Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned his undergraduate degree. The following year, Dr. Platner enrolled at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. He subsequently completed a residency in pediatrics at Emory University in Atlanta. 

Dr. Platner is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a proud Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma and allergies, as well as attention-deficit disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD). When he isn’t working with patients or augmenting his professional skills, Dr. Platner serves as an adjunct faculty member of the Emory School of Medicine.

Claire Wilkiemeyer, MD, brings more than a decade of experience in pediatrics to Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics, serving children and adolescents in Atlanta, Georgia, and throughout Fulton County. 

Dr. Wilkiemeyer grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and began her professional education in Virginia, where she earned her undergraduate degree. After obtaining her diploma, Dr. Wilkiemeyer moved to New Orleans and enrolled at the Tulane University School of Medicine, where she obtained her Doctor of Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Wilkiemeyer completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. 

Dr. Wilkiemeyer is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition to diagnosing and treating common pediatric conditions, she specializes in parent education and helping her young patients make healthy choices. 

In her spare time, you can find Dr. Wilkiemeyer spending time with her family on the Beltline and in Piedmont Park. She also enjoys gardening, running, and supporting local sports teams. Leslie Mosteller, PA-C, recently moved to Atlanta from the DC area, where she worked in pediatrics over the last seven years, both in the emergency department at Children’s National and in pediatric primary care. She became certified as a lactation consultant (IBCLC) in 2021 to better support her breastfeeding families, and is passionate about supporting families in their feeding journeys.

She graduated from the PA program at George Washington University in 2016, earning a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to her training as a PA-C, Leslie worked in health informatics and public health in Charleston, SC. She holds a Masters in Health Communication from the University of Sydney, where she studied as a Global Ambassadorial Scholar with Rotary International in 2010-2011. She is passionate about global public health and has worked on projects in Australasia, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uganda, and Washington, DC. She has an undergraduate degree in English and Pre-medicine from Davidson College in NC and loves to share her love for reading with her patients.

She lives with her husband and two young daughters in the Atlanta area and in her free time enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, painting, gardening, and exploring local parks and museums. She is thrilled to be joining Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics.

James H. Lin, MD, received his Bachelor's degree in chemistry from Duke University, and his Medical Degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He then completed his pediatrics internship and residency with the Emory University School of Medicine. He has been practicing general pediatrics for over 20 years, taking care of children from birth through the teenage years. James H. Lin, MD has received the Patient's Choice Award (2008, 2009, 2012) and Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2014) from Vitals.com. Dr. Lin has hospital affiliations with Gwinnett Medical Center and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Nhung Hoang, PA-C received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Georgia and her Master degree of Health Science from South College-Atlanta. She has been practicing as a Physician Assistant for 1 year and is excited to further her career in pediatrics. In her free time, she likes to cook, kayak, play bowling, draw/paint, and hang out with her friends and family. She is fluent in English and Vietnamese.    She is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered and preventative healthcare to children and adolescents and strives to empower the family unit to be proactive in their children’s medical care.

Dr. Derica N. Sams is a board-certified pediatrician with subspecialty fellowship training in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. She completed her pediatric gastroenterology fellowship at Vanderbilt University and pediatric residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She earned her MD degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, and she is a graduate of Emory University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Educational Studies. Her clinical interests include functional GI disorders, weight management, and integrative pediatrics.

Pediatric Medicine of Cartersville opened its doors in 2002 when Dr. Ryan moved his family to Cartersville to start his own practice. He and his wife, Jeannette, married after completing their pediatric residency and worked together in Kentucky prior to settling down in Georgia. Dr. Ryan grew up in Corning, NY and obtained his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from Syracuse University in 1988. He graduated from medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1993 and completed his pediatric residency at Stony Brook Children's Medical Center in 1996. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Ryan has been an avid runner all his life. He enjoys growing his own food and loves working his compost pile. He looks forward to cool nights camping in the woods and building fires with the children. He is a wonderful storyteller and a gifted teacher. He and Jeannette homeschool their six children.
