I am a very experienced pediatrician with extensive education and training in several tertiary institutions across the globe. I have deep compassion for children and their families and this reflects in the type of practice we run. With the child at the center of our philosophy, we do everything possible to ensure access to the medical home and primary care irrespective of what time of the day it is. We provide primary care services up to 9 pm daily. We also ensure that our patients have access to us through telemedicine/evisits and direct to doctor messaging from the comfprt of their homes and phones. Our clinic has minimal waiting times, and online appointment booking which makes for a better patient experience. Part of my clinical interest is in lactation for mothers. Dr. Platner was born and raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He began his professional pursuits at Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned his undergraduate degree. The following year, Dr. Platner enrolled at The University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. He subsequently completed a residency in pediatrics at Emory University in Atlanta. 

Dr. Platner is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a proud Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of asthma and allergies, as well as attention-deficit disorder and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD). When he isn’t working with patients or augmenting his professional skills, Dr. Platner serves as an adjunct faculty member of the Emory School of Medicine.

Leslie Mosteller, PA-C, recently moved to Atlanta from the DC area, where she worked in pediatrics over the last seven years, both in the emergency department at Children’s National and in pediatric primary care. She became certified as a lactation consultant (IBCLC) in 2021 to better support her breastfeeding families, and is passionate about supporting families in their feeding journeys.

She graduated from the PA program at George Washington University in 2016, earning a Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to her training as a PA-C, Leslie worked in health informatics and public health in Charleston, SC. She holds a Masters in Health Communication from the University of Sydney, where she studied as a Global Ambassadorial Scholar with Rotary International in 2010-2011. She is passionate about global public health and has worked on projects in Australasia, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uganda, and Washington, DC. She has an undergraduate degree in English and Pre-medicine from Davidson College in NC and loves to share her love for reading with her patients.

She lives with her husband and two young daughters in the Atlanta area and in her free time enjoys spending time with her family, running, hiking, painting, gardening, and exploring local parks and museums. She is thrilled to be joining Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics.

With more than 20 years of experience in pediatrics, W. David Hammad, MD, serves children and adolescents in Atlanta, Georgia, and throughout Fulton County at Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics.

Dr. Hammad grew up in Lebanon and France. He began his medical education at the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Hammad moved to the United States and did his training in pediatrics at Case Western University in Cleveland. He subsequently completed a fellowship in infectious diseases at Emory University in Atlanta. 

Dr. Hammad is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and specializes in general pediatrics. He has a special knack for helping children with infectious diseases and dermatological issues. Dr. Hammad speaks English, French, and Arabic fluently, allowing him to serve Atlanta’s diverse population.

Claire Wilkiemeyer, MD, brings more than a decade of experience in pediatrics to Old Fourth Ward Pediatrics, serving children and adolescents in Atlanta, Georgia, and throughout Fulton County. 

Dr. Wilkiemeyer grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and began her professional education in Virginia, where she earned her undergraduate degree. After obtaining her diploma, Dr. Wilkiemeyer moved to New Orleans and enrolled at the Tulane University School of Medicine, where she obtained her Doctor of Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Wilkiemeyer completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. 

Dr. Wilkiemeyer is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In addition to diagnosing and treating common pediatric conditions, she specializes in parent education and helping her young patients make healthy choices. 

In her spare time, you can find Dr. Wilkiemeyer spending time with her family on the Beltline and in Piedmont Park. She also enjoys gardening, running, and supporting local sports teams. Pediatric Medicine of Cartersville opened its doors in 2002 when Dr. Ryan moved his family to Cartersville to start his own practice. He and his wife, Jeannette, married after completing their pediatric residency and worked together in Kentucky prior to settling down in Georgia. Dr. Ryan grew up in Corning, NY and obtained his undergraduate degree in Bioengineering from Syracuse University in 1988. He graduated from medical school at the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1993 and completed his pediatric residency at Stony Brook Children's Medical Center in 1996. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Ryan has been an avid runner all his life. He enjoys growing his own food and loves working his compost pile. He looks forward to cool nights camping in the woods and building fires with the children. He is a wonderful storyteller and a gifted teacher. He and Jeannette homeschool their six children.

She then completed a pediatric residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She completed her dermatology residency at Vanderbilt University, where she served as chief resident during her training. She
has had over 13 years of dermatology experience.

 

Dr. Woodson is a board-certified dermatologist. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the Society for Pediatric Dermatology. She has extensive training in medical, surgical, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology.

 

Dr. Woodson is a new addition to The Southern Skin and Beauty Bar. She is committed to providing comprehensive skincare, and she is dedicated to being responsive to patients’ needs. When she is not with her patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.

Nhung Hoang, PA-C received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Georgia and her Master degree of Health Science from South College-Atlanta. She has been practicing as a Physician Assistant for 1 year and is excited to further her career in pediatrics. In her free time, she likes to cook, kayak, play bowling, draw/paint, and hang out with her friends and family.
