Dr. Amar began her medical career doing research for a pathologist. A biochemistry and chemistry major in college, she considered becoming a pediatrician before she discovered podiatry and decided to become a foot doctor. NYC seemed the logical place to study and start her practice.
Shazia Amar was motivated to become a foot doctor in NYC when her grandmother visited became ill and was taken to the hospital. Her grandmother didn’t speak any English, and was understandably anxious about being sick so far from home. Dr. Amar was struck by the physician’s warmth and compassion, and his ability to quickly alleviate her grandmother’s concerns, despite the fact that they didn’t speak the same language.
Dr. Shazia Amar believes that being a doctor is not just about medical expertise because compassion and understanding are an integral part of the healing process.
When not taking care of patients, Dr. Amar enjoys cooking, traveling, jogging and working out at the gym. An avid movie buff, she loves action flicks and thrillers. She is looking forward to returning to her cardio-boxing class as time permits.

Mina Beshai, DPM, is a board-certified podiatrist and surgeon at Forward Foot & Ankle Associates in Staten Island and Midtown Manhattan, New York. Dr. Beshai is committed to providing professional and patient-centered foot and ankle care for patients at every age.
Dr. Beshai was raised in Staten Island, and he completed his bachelor’s degree in psychology, minoring in chemistry, within three years at the College of Staten Island. He relocated to Harlem to obtain his doctorate in podiatric medicine and surgery at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and the Foot Center of New York.
He received extensive training in foot and ankle reconstructive surgery at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center. After completing the program, he maintained a relationship with the clinic and is currently providing podiatric care for their pediatric department.
Outside of his practice, Dr. Beshai enjoys walking with his two huskies and teaching them new skills. He also loves cruising on his motorcycle.

Dr. Mina Baskhron is a double board-certified foot and ankle podiatric surgeon. Dr Baskhron is a leader in private practice in New York since 2014. He has performed over five thousand podiatric surgical procedures including some of the most complicated congenital and acquired foot and ankle deformities. Dr. Baskhron is one of the few foot and ankle podiatric surgeons who completed a 4-year residency training focusing only on foot & ankle pathologies. Dr. Sally Beshai is an experienced Podiatric Surgeon and has received numerous awards for her work.
