Capital Pain Consultants is a leading interventional pain management practice serving adults of all ages throughout the Sacramento, California, area.
Led by Sharon Leano, MD, and James Kim, MD, the Capital Pain Consultants specialists compassionately treat disruptive and disabling pain conditions, including back pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), herniated discs, joint pain, neck pain, and other types of stubborn chronic pain.
Capital Pain Consultants uses a multimodal approach to chronic pain management, which means the professionals look beyond single solutions to use a combination of effective strategies to manage pain.
The practice helps patients discontinue or greatly decrease opioid medications in favor of innovative pain treatments that won’t harm their health or cause dependency. Dr Kim came in the room with a page of type written notes prepared to discuss how my medication’s were working out. He was thorough and to the point. He listened when I asked questions and answered all my concerns. I asked for him to schedule a epidural, and he immediately agreed and said that there was only one spot to schedule me in before Christmas. He ran to the scheduler’s office and booked it before it was given away. Dr Kim’s attitude, professionalism, and promptness made my appointment a success.

I absolutely love and respect both Dr Leoni and Dr. Kim. They make sure all your questions are answered and you understand all explanations. The reason the the three stars? The wait time is extremely excessive. I have spent up to an hour and a half past my appointment time in the lobby! It almost makes me feel as if my time is not valuable. The staff are also phenomenal . They just need to perhaps work on time management.
