The first is kidney stones, the second is prostate issues. About a year and a half ago I was given a prostate biopsy that came back mostly negative. One reading from the biopsy was not positive or negative, implying yearly monitoring. Three weeks ago, I had my 6 month PSA test for Prostate issues. I was under the impression that if my PSA results were above a specific number, another biopsy would have to be done. The numbers from the most current PSA test came back extremely high, over 2 times higher. Maelyn indicated that my latest PSA numbers were far too high. She indicated that PSA levels typically go up gradually and not in large changes. Maelyn suggested that I might have some form of inflammation causing my numbers to elevate. Maelyn resisted going straight to another biopsy at this time as she wanted to be sure. Maelyn prescribed medication to take care of any inflammation issue. After the medication, 2 week dosage, Maelyn requested I receive an MRI of the prostate and to have another PSA test done. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved for a number of reasons: 1) Maelyn was truly knowledgeable and knew what to expect with the newest PSA readings. 2) Maelyn wanted solid evidence that the most current PSA reading was real. 3) Maelyn wanted to identify any area within my prostate that was questionable if future biopsies were needed. I have nothing but the upmost respect for Maelyn Dishman’s knowledge and professionalism concerning both my prostate and kidneys. She is always looking out for her patients’ needs first.

I saw him for kidney issues caused by severe kidney stone blockage and had to undergo several out-patient operations & other procedures (performed by Dr. Sathy) for the removal and follow up. Throughout the entire journey (over several months) he and his staff have been wonderful to work with. They actually answered the phones, returned calls and answered all my emails. My problem was very serious and effecting kidney function, so I was very fearful. He and his staff made me feel very comfortable, and handled all my visits, procedures and follow-up with upmost respect and answered all my questions. His bedside manner is great. He was straight to the point, pleasant and made me feel like my medical issues were at the top of his list. He's one of my favorite Doctors and with a great staff without a doubt!
