Since no doctors provided the BioPro thumb implant here in Grand Rapids, I drove to Lansing to see Dr Clarkson. He explained the procedures he preformed for the CMC joint, that the BioPro implant was not recommended. Any options where the trapezium bone was removed was unacceptable. Advising Dr Clarkson regarding my up coming appt with Dr Randy Lovell, he encouraged that I meet with him since he had some other unique techniques. Dr Lovell, did in fact offer a denervation and suspension. Read less

I’ve had the hand issue problem for over 10 years, with severe pain reaching 10/10. Dr. Clarkson quickly assessed the problem and clearly explained everything. We started treatment right away, and he said I should see improvement in a few days. I originally came to him after being told I needed surgery, which worried me due to my age. Thankfully, he offers awake, outpatient procedures—and I may not need surgery at all. Highly recommend him for his clear communication and expertise. Read less
