At my first appt. with Dr. Clarkson it was to see if I needed surgery on my right hand. He was very warm, kind, and compassionate to my concern of having anesthesia at being 72 years old. He discussed with me that if surgery wasShow more needed, it would have to be done in the hospital, but I would NOT have to go under anesthesia which was very comforting to me. After the exam & x rays, we discussed that PT would be the best thing for me. I feel very confident in his treatment decision.
Dr. Clarkson's staff are friendly and kind. They make sure that they are providing you with everything that is needed to provide the best experience possible. Dr. Clarkson is extremely versed in his field and he listens to youShow more as a person and as a patient. You aren't just a number. My case has been "trying" to say the least but he has always made it clear he is there 24/7 if needed and he coordinates with other physicians for my care. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of hand surgery.

Wonderful experience! What I love about Dr Clarkson and the staff is that they are personable and professional. The atmosphere is wonderful. You can tell when people like their jobs it is true of this practice! Dr Clarkson explains everything about the upcoming procedure and takes his time to make sure that you understand and he answer any questions you may have. He is wonderful!! This was my second time seeing him for a finger injury. He actually saved my index finger the first time. Normal procedure would have been to remove the finger because it was so badly shattered but he saved it. So I returned this time because I totally trust him to do what’s best for I highly recommend him.
Dr. Clarkston was thoughtful, highly educated, knowledgeable, and honest about treatment going forward. I was seen quickly, and felt heart and comfortable the entire time. He took a holistic approach - meaning he asked about my lifestyle and prior issues before diagnosis - that made me feel as though he understood my entire situation. It was once of my best experiences with medical care and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him. He also had a lovely demeanor that was calming.

It always starts with the staff. The staff were quick, thorough, friendly, and very kind. I felt as though they cared about my experience in the office. Dr. Clarkson was very thorough. He's a good listener and did not rush - he took as much time as he needed to assess me and make sure I understood and agreed to the plan going forward. I had an excellent experience.

Wow! Great overall from making appointment thru office visit. Doctor is super knowledgeable, has X-ray equipment to let you see your image immediately and explains all details and options. Office staff are friendly and helpful. This practice is what all doctors should strive to achieve.

Great surgeon!
Dr James Clarkson is the finest. We are 7 hours away and he's well worth the trip! I had 3 peripheralnerve entrapments that were overlooked by several other medical professions that did diagnostic testing. He goes way above and beyond in patient diagnosis/surgery and post surgical care. I highly recommend him to anyone needing any medical attention to their hand/arm.
