With board certification in pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and internal medicine, Walter J. Willoughby, Jr., MD, is uniquely qualified to provide comprehensive care to women and men living in the Las Vegas area. Dr. Willoughby provides personalized and patient-centered care, with a focus on keeping his patients healthy and out of the hospital. Patients can count on receiving the full range of services, including getting their lung function testing done in the office, which is fully equipped with advanced pulmonary testing technology.

In addition to treating patients with common lung diseases such as asthma, COPD, bronchitis, and pneumonia, Dr. Willoughby also provides expert medical care for complex conditions like pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer.

Dr. Willoughby received his board certification in sleep medicine in 2005 and has extensive experience treating sleep-related problems such as sleep apnea, insomnia, restless legs syndrome, and narcolepsy.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, Dr. Willoughby obtained his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. From there he received his medical training in Ann Arbor, Michigan, first finishing his internal medicine internship and residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, then completing his pulmonary medicine fellowship at University Hospital, University of Michigan.
