Dr. Rafizad completed his internship and residency at John H Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County followed by a fellowship in pain management at UCLA Medical Center. As a pain management specialist, Dr. Rafizad is board certified in both pain medicine and anesthesiology. In addition to caring for patients at Pain Care Providers, he also treats patients at the West Los Angeles Veterans Medical Center where he serves as attending staff physician for pain management and anesthesiology.

I have been a new patient of Dr Rafizad. I have known him for over a year and a half. He is quite exceptional with the way he handles his Clients. I have had extensive surgeries in my back and the other pain management doctors threw their hands up and wanted to continue my Percocet regiment. I saw Dr Rafizad for 1 year in which he was providing the incorrect treatment. The recommended treatment was listed on the paperwork from my surgeon, but Rafizad decided to do something differently which didn’t work and he didn’t make me feel reassured as to why he chose that treatment. He also prescribed pain medication that caused interactions threatening to my health and he ignored my concerns of the side effects for months saying it’s “unrelated”. In addition to the ongoing struggles and being experimented on with multiple procedures, the unprofessionalism of their staff caused me enormous amounts of stress. They lack communication leaving important instructions unaddressed and often blame the patient unfairly. The women in charge of billing, personally related to Dr Rafizad, treated me with no kindness, respect, or empathy. I had to hang up calls due to anxiety attacks caused by her yelling at me while being unable to explain why I was billed incorrectly multiple times. I put trust in this doctor but it turns out I wasted an entire year. My new doctor treated me per my surgeons original referral and I’m finally pain free! This new doctor was entirely confused and appalled at Rafizads course of treatment.
Dr. Rifizad has helped me with my pain. I can’t count how many doctors I have been to. My first doctor was helping me, but he retired. All the other doctors were not easing my pain at all. Dr. Rifizad listens to all my complaints, and tries to treat them one by one. I am so great full for finding him. When other people talk to me about there pain I always tell them about Dr. Rafizad.

This was our first meeting, and I appreciated Dr. Rafizad’s thoughtful and thorough approach to diagnosis. He was very knowledgeable, reasonable, and took the time to explain things clearly. I also had a very positive experience with the office staff; the entire visit, from scheduling the appointment to completing the paperwork, was handled efficiently and professionally.
