Dr. Andrew Nyein, DO

Dr. Andrew Nyein is an obstetrician-gynecologist at Bayard Street Obstetrics & Gynecology, representing the next generation of this multi-generational practice. He specializes in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery, bringing a modern, precision-driven approach to women’s healthcare while continuing a longstanding legacy of care within the community.

Known for his calm and reassuring presence, Dr. Nyein prioritizes making patients feel comfortable, informed, and confident in their care—especially when navigating complex or sensitive decisions. His approach is both thoughtful and individualized, combining advanced surgical expertise with a broader understanding of how physical health, hormones, and overall well-being are interconnected.

Dr. Nyein graduated magna cum laude from Stony Brook University with a degree in Biochemistry and earned his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he graduated at the top of his class. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Good Samaritan University Hospital, serving as Chief Resident.

He provides comprehensive care across all stages of women’s health, from preventive visits and pregnancy care to advanced gynecologic surgery. His clinical interests include minimally invasive and robotic surgery for pelvic pain conditions such as endometriosis and adenomyosis, as well as in-office procedures including hysteroscopy and endometrial ablation. He also offers cosmetic and functional gynecology, including labiaplasty, with a focus on both refined outcomes and patient comfort.

In addition to surgical care, Dr. Nyein has a strong interest in hormone health, sexual wellness, and pelvic floor care. His goal is to look beyond isolated symptoms and provide care that is comprehensive, personalized, and aligned with how each patient feels and functions in their daily life.

Dr. Nyein is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and is currently pursuing certification through the North American Menopause Society.
