First time visit. Front desk personnel were very friendly and were helpful with check in. Wait time was a reasonable 10 minutes. Exam room was clean. Assistant asked me why I was there, gave me a gown, and said the doctor would beShow more in shortly. Dr. Balaraman knocked, then came in. She was very friendly. She did a body check. I told her about what had been going on with my body breaking out in rashes in different ways. She said to continue medicine my primary had prescribed and said she was also calling 2 more prescriptions in to my pharmacy. I have a follow up visit in a month. All in all, my visit was very comfortable. I felt like I was with a group of people who really wanted to take care of my medical problem.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked the care I received. This was my first time to with this doctor and I was afraid that there might be unnecessary procedures suggested or I might feel uncomfortable in some other way. Brundha Balaraman, MD, is a renowned dermatologist at ALLUSTRA DERMATOLOGY in the Heights, Houston, Texas. She is board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and specializes in advanced medical and cosmetic dermatology, with expertise in laser therapy, dermal fillers, Botox®, acne, psoriasis, eczema, and skin cancer prevention.
Dr. Balaraman received her bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She then earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. She went on to complete an internal medicine internship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, followed by her dermatology residency at Washington University School of Medicine.
To expand her training, Dr. Balaraman completed a fellowship in cosmetic dermatologic surgery where she received advanced training in laser resurfacing, Botox®, dermal filler injections, KYBELLA®, and noninvasive body contouring.
Contributing to her accomplishments, Dr. Balaraman is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, Women’s Dermatologic Society, Harris County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and Houston Dermatologic Society.
In her free time, Dr. Balaraman enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and friends. She also enjoys volunteering to provide community skin cancer screenings with the Skin Cancer Foundation and Houston Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.
