I had my first appointment with Dr. Williams for my hands. He was very thorough in explaining the condition of my hands. He is very thorough and easy to understand his medical thoughts; he recommended my getting a hand brace as wShow moreell and he set me up for a MRI. I feel that Dr. Williams was very efficient and when I left his office I was very comfortable with my appointment with him. He explains everything one needs to know about their medical visit! He is an awesome doctor. Penny Tigner-Hamilton
My experience was great. It was my 1st time seeing him. I liked that he explained to me what and why , my hands are hurting badly and what he can do for me , once I get my Imaging done on my hands and he looks at the Imaging, so hShow moree can further decide what he will do surgery wise. His staff whom works for him very kind. Cheerful place to be seen, because your cared for with kindness and explanation given to you, about my problem with my hands.
Got questions for
Dr. Carl Williams, MD?
Dr. Carl Williams was born in Gary Indiana and has been practicing medicine in Las Vegas for over thirty years and has made it a priority to make care, understanding, and validation the heart of his practice. He received his Medical Doctorate at the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed residencies and fellowships at Wayne State in Detroit, the University of Illinois, Chicago and Rush Presbyterian. He served an additional residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Illinois School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center. Dr. Williams is a skilled hand surgeon with his own private practice – Carl N. Williams, Jr. M.D. Hand and Plastic Surgery – in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the first African American Plastic Surgery Resident in Chicago and the first African American Plastic Surgeon in the state of Nevada. He brought the first laser center to Las Vegas and introduced a multitude of lasers and their functionality to this area.
Dr. Carl Williams is triple board certified in plastic surgery, surgery of the hand and otolaryngology. He has served on the board of directors of many different hospitals as both a leader of surgery and advanced wound healing. He was a member of the plastic surgery faculty for two years in Chicago at the University of Illinois and continues to pass on his knowledge today by continuing as a clinical educator for both the UNLV School of Medicine and Touro University.
Dr. Williams holds active memberships in many professional organizations including the AMA, ASPS, ASSH, and ASA. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and has volunteered for many medical missions to Mexico, Guatemala, Samoa, Costa Rica, and the Philippines. He also participated in a medical exchange with China and Russia. Dr. Williams participated in a community outreach program that removed gang tattoos to give Las Vegas youth a chance to get out of that lifestyle. He has also contributed, as a reconstructive plastic surgeon, much needed assistance to victims of domestic violence. Dr. Williams also established the hand surgery department at UMC hospital and continues to take hand trauma call for four Las Vegas hospitals today.
Dr. Williams has observed that too many surgical facilities and cosmetic centers lack the ability to personalize the patient experience and build meaningful relationships with individuals. Rather than generalizing your treatment, Dr. Williams feels that establishing trust and understanding your unique traits help him customize your treatment plan and personalize the procedures for your care.
Early in his career, Dr. Williams began to expand his expertise and work in diverse fields to learn more about the characteristics of plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has served as the chief of surgery at North Vista Hospital, the chief of plastic surgery at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas and Mountain View Hospital, and has been on the medical executive committee at Valley Hospital. These leadership roles have helped him tailor his treatment setting to each patient’s needs and develop specific regimens for each procedure.
Dr. Williams currently serves as an associate professor at the Nevada School of Medicine and the Toro School of Medicine, sharing his treatment philosophy and emphasizing the importance of personalized patient experiences.
Additionally, Dr. Williams holds three board certifications with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Plastic Surgery with an emphasis in hand surgery, and the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Always a wonderful expierence!
From the moment I walked in William was AWESOME!!!! Very upbeat, personable, happy! The doctor followed by a small team, was equally great. He was soft spoken, kind and gentle. It was a GREAT experience to have with a new team when one can be nervously going into a new doctor. Thank you to you all!!!
Front office staff as well as the medical assistant were VERY thorough, all of my questions (no matter how ridiculous) were answered for me clearly and completely. Dr. Williams was very personable and professional,he gave me the impression that I’m in good hands
It was a great experience. I didn't have to wait long. Dr Williams explained everything very clearly. I am looking forward to working with him and his staff to make me normal again. No more pain. Thanks

Excellent Staff professional and friendly!
Haven't quit finished getting information your great
It was all good. Office people were easy to communicate with. Not a lot of paperwork. Dr Williams was super. He had a couple of interns in the room so as they learn I did also. Long way to go but it is something that needs fixed.
Dr Williams absolutely knows what he's doing. I really appreciated the fact that he just went to work very professionally and did what needed to be done while at the same time being very compassionate and thoughtful towards me. I wish more doctors were like him!
The doctor cares about his patients’ care and explains the details of what he wants to try.
I cannot recommend Dr. Carl Williams highly enough! From the moment I walked into the clinic, I felt completely at ease. He is not only incredibly skilled and knowledgeable but also compassionate and attentive. He took the time to explain every detail of my condition and treatment options in a way that was easy to understand, which gave me so much confidence.
Charge me for copay, but insurance is no copay. Receptionist didn't look up my information to show I have copay. Had to call Humana to verify information.
Very good xam
4 stars only because they gave me Tramadol for pain and Tramadol does nothing for me!!
Great doctor and surgeon
As soon as I walked in, I was very welcomed. Staff is superrr friendly especially Vianey at the front desk. Dr. Williams made me feel completely comfortable about getting my future surgery for carpal tunnel which i was very nervous about. He is caring and answered all my questions. Highly recommend 100%.

Very pleasant doctor's appointment, I wasn't expecting such a calm soft spoken doctor! Very professional and apologetic for hurting my hand as he did his examination! He knew what the problem was as he was speaking with me, I was amazed! I've had carpal tunnel syndrome surgery before on my right hand, years ago when I worked for the federal government and I never got this nice happy doctor, patient encounter!!! I had a nice appointment with doctor Williams!
