I have had two mole removal surgeries with Dr. Skinner. One was a Mohs surgery and one was a mole removal on my scalp. Dr. Skinner is very attentive, kind, and professional. I scheduled an appointment and was able to have all my services completed within 1 week and in 1 visit. Very grateful to everyone involved. No one wants any cancer scare and Dr Skinner has been there for me now twice. I am not Show morein a hurry to see him again, but if the need arises I would be there in a heartbeat!
Daniel Skinner, MD, is board-certified in dermatology and Mohs micrographic surgery. He provides expert care at Skin Cancer Specialists, located in Mesa, Arizona.
Dr. Skinner is a 5th-generation Arizonan who grew up in Mesa and graduated from Mountain View High School. He went on to attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he graduated with a degree in business management. He then attended the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, where he developed an interest in dermatologic surgery.
During medical school, he was a leader and volunteer in many different medical school organizations. He completed a one-year internship in internal medicine at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, and a three-year dermatology residency at the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he served as chief resident in his final year. He has presented research at many local and national meetings and has published research on the use of Mohs surgery for rare skin cancer, as well as a book chapter on dermabrasion.
Dr. Skinner concluded his training with an intensive one-year fellowship in Mohs micrographic and dermatologic surgery in Birmingham, Alabama, with Dr. Christopher Harmon, one of the nation's leading Mohs surgeons. Dr. Skinner has performed over 10,000 skin cancer surgeries. In addition to training in Mohs surgery and skin cancer removal, he has expertise in facial reconstruction after skin cancer removal.
Dr. Skinner is currently the president of the Phoenix Dermatology Society and on the board of directors of the Arizona Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery Society. In addition, he is very active in volunteer work for his church and enjoys spending time playing and watching sports.
When he is not at work, Dr. Skinner enjoys spending time with his wife, Marie, and their six children.

Efficient and friendly staff making a normally tough experience a little easier to deal with. Those of us with much Mohs surgery history bring books and games to play while waiting for the results. Waiting room had great snacks and drinks but not enough light to read comfortably. Other than that, a very positive experience!
Everyone very friendly and explaining all procedures
Dr Skinner & his staff were excellent in offering information regarding the surgery I was going to have. They answered all questions to my satisfaction, were friendly, made sure that I had had enough pain medication so I was comfortable while my procedure continued. I was given verbal and written discharge plans and how to care for my stitches.

All very good, except Dr Rowley said too much caterized tissue. He doesn’t scrape it out so it makes for slower healing and more scaring.
