His team conducted an exam that reviewed the condition of my eyesight and then reviewed my medical and family history in a comfortable setting. He explained the process, noted that my left eye was in need of treatment, and that we can discuss additional options at a later time. That seemed logical and straightforward. Dr Gilbert had taken care of my wife’s cataracts a few years ago. She was highly complimentary of Dr Gilbert’s skill and personality. I look forward to soon having this procedure. Neal

David D. Gilbert, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and glaucoma. He practices at Diablo Eye Associates in Walnut Creek, California.
Dr. Gilbert grew up in the east bay of San Francisco and later graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s in biomedical engineering. He completed his glaucoma fellowship training at Stanford University.
Dr. Gilbert received his Medical Degree from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He stayed at Wake Forest for his ophthalmology residency, where he served as co-chief resident and twice received the resident research award for his publications on glaucoma surgical advances. After residency, Dr. Gilbert returned to the West Coast to complete glaucoma fellowship training at Stanford University and was on the clinical staff. He has authored several papers and given numerous lectures related to glaucoma care.
Dr. Gilbert is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, a member of the American Glaucoma Society, and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He currently serves as a counselor for the Glaucoma Research Foundation. He has been a clinical faculty instructor at the University of California, San Francisco, and a past chair of the Ophthalmology department at John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek. As a glaucoma subspecialist, he has expertise in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. Dr. Gilbert has performed cataract procedures, glaucoma surgeries, and laser surgeries for over 17 years.

Very thorough and knowledgeable on all things that concerned my eyes.
She gives a thorough and effective eye exam and has the ability to use the results effectively when prescribing new lenses. She was able to increase strength of prism as needed and remove astigmatism prescription when no longer needed. I look forward to soon receiving my new glasses. She answers questions when asked, is kind and caring when doing the exam, and I am grateful for having had the opportunity to be under her vision care.

I really like Dr Lonelino she explains what she's doing & listens to my concerns. The only issue I have with the doctors office is the automated appointment reminder before my appointment, I got a live person called me plus numerous texts, which I confirmed with and still got another text afterward
On my recent visit to Dr. Gilbert, I had my last post operation visit following two cataract surgeries. He explained that the the two surgeries produced results that were exactly as planned. I will still have wear glasses, also as planned, but now I will be a able to take them off and still see things with reasonable clarity. I am very happy and would recommend Dr. Gilbert highly!
