Derec Stanislav, DO

Dr. Derec Stanislav is a fellowship-trained orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in knee and shoulder injuries, arthroscopic surgery, fracture care, and comprehensive orthopedic treatment for athletes and active individuals of all ages. His goal is to help every patient return safely and confidently to the activities they love through personalized, evidence-based care.

Dr. Stanislav completed his Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, where he trained in advanced sports injury management and minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery. He currently serves as Team Physician for Dallas Christian College and Covenant Christian Academy following fellowship appointments as Head Team Physician for Second Baptist High School and Associate Team Physician for the Houston SaberCats of Major League Rugby.

He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Kansas City University/HCA Research Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident and earning the highest orthopedic in-service examination score in his class for three consecutive years. He was also honored with the Bob Green Memorial Award from the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, recognizing the nation's highest score on the written orthopedic certification examination.

Dr. Stanislav earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also earned a Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences, graduating Summa Cum Laude, from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology with a minor in Business, graduating Cum Laude, from Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.

Dr. Stanislav is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM), the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO), ensuring his patients benefit from the latest advances in orthopedic sports medicine.

A proud Texan, Dr. Stanislav enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, hunting, fishing, golfing, watching sports, and writing and recording original country music.
