Originally from Harlingen, Texas, Dr. Roderick Capelo received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology at The University of Texas at Austin, then attended medical school at UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery internship and residency at John Peter Smith/Fort Worth Affiliated Hospitals in 2004. During his first 2 years of residency, he was unsure what aspect of orthopedic surgery was right for him. His first rotation outside of John Peter Smith Hospital was in Pediatric Orthopedics at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth, and he immediately found his calling. Within his first week on that rotation, Dr. Capelo knew that caring for children was his passion. Upon dedicating himself to treating children, he underwent specialized training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopedics at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego.

Dr. Michael Hennessy is a native Texan through and through. He is privileged to be able to call himself a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas, and he is proud to call Dallas, Texas his home.
Dr. Hennessy was born in Dallas to a family with three other siblings. He stayed in Dallas for his undergraduate education at Southern Methodist University. He majored in mathematics and graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian of his class. He graduated cum laude and then was drawn back to Texas when he matched an Orthopaedic surgery residency here locally at The University of Texas Southwestern. After completing the rigorous training program at UTSW and Parkland Hospital, Dr. Hennessy decided to get a little bit more sunshine by completing his spine surgery fellowship under the guidance of Dr. Behrooz Akbarnia in San Diego, California. While at UT Southwestern, Dr. Banerjee trained residents and fellows and provided care to patients with complex fractures and injuries at Parkland Memorial Hospital and UT Southwestern. In 2021, Dr. Banerjee joined the team at North Texas Orthopaedic and Spine.
Dr. Banerjee is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Howard Rosen Teaching Award from AO North America. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. In addition, Dr. Banerjee has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications and numerous textbook chapters on the treatment of orthopaedic problems.

Charles B. Marder, DPM, is a board-certified podiatric surgeon at North Texas Orthopaedic & Spine in Plano and Frisco, Texas. He brings his exceptional combination of expertise, extensive experience, and compassionate dedication to his patients at NTOS. Throughout his 30 plus year career, Dr. Marder has assumed key roles such as the President of the regional division of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, the Director of education for the Mesquite Podiatric Surgical Residency Program. As well as, a respected lecturer representing several pharmaceutical companies.
His medical interests are in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, trauma treatment, diabetic foot care, pediatric podiatry, and sports medicine. Dr. Marder remains committed to providing each patient with personalized and attentive care at North Texas Orthopaedic & Spine.
Bruce Markman, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at North Texas Orthopaedic & Spine in Plano, Frisco and Tyler, Texas. He has over 20 years of experience with arthroscopies, shoulder reconstruction surgeries, and surgeries of the elbow, shoulder, hip, knee, and ankle.
Athletes and other patients of all ages continually return to Dr. Markman for his expertise as well as his ability to compassionately treat each patient as if they were family. In 2016 and 2017, D Magazine named him among the best doctors in Dallas.
Dr. Markman received his medical education at the State University of New York and at the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University in Tel Aviv, Israel. After graduating with his doctorate of medicine, he moved to California for his surgery internship at the University of California at San Francisco. He stayed in San Francisco for his residency in orthopaedic surgery at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Then, Dr. Markman moved to Manhattan Beach, California, to complete a fellowship at the West Coast Center for Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. During his fellowship, he focused on sports medicine, arthroscopy, and shoulder, foot, and ankle surgeries.
Throughout his years of experience, Dr. Markman has been the team physician for the Tulsa Oilers of the East Coast Hockey League and the Tulsa Shock of the Women’s National Basketball Association in Oklahoma. Today, he continues to give athletes and other patients the gift of an active, comfortable life.
