About Dr. Enrique Mendez, MD

Dr. Enrique Mendez specializes in Rheumatology in Lake Charles, Louisiana with over 32 years of experience in the medical field. He earned his medical degree from Universidad Salvadoreña Alberto Masferrer (USAM) in San Salvador, El Salvador. He then completed his residency in internal medicine at Mount Vernon Hospital, an affiliate of the New York Medical College in Mount Vernon, New York. He also completed a rheumatology fellowship at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans (now LSU Health New Orleans). Dr. Mendez's specialty areas are Osteoporosis, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Gout, Arthritis and Arthropathies.  He currently holds several awards and publications in the field of rheumatology clinical research and is considered one of the leading experts in Lupus Clinical Trials in Louisiana. Dr. Mendez truly believes in the need for accurate clinical studies performed to provided quality care to all patients in need of life changing therapies.
