I have been putting off going to an orthopedic, for my knee, in fear of hearing a disastrous report. However, due to wanting to get back into walking. I recall hearing doctor Luks name trough a family member, who had surgery, byShow more him, several years ago. I googled his name and so happy to see he is still in practice, but in Dobbs Ferry now. I was amazed to get an appointment quickly. I was thankful that it was easy to get X-Rays, in the same facility and within a matter of a few minutes doctor Luks was able to see me with the results of the X-Rays. I truly appreciate his conservative approach with starting with physical therapy and not rushing into a surgical procedure. At this time, I am hopeful physical therapy may be all I need for this old knee, which has survived two nasty car accidents, old ice skating and jogging falls, falling down cement stairs, slipping down a boat ramp and several falls on icy pavements. I have no problem recommending Dr. Luks to anyone who is considering a Orthopedic Sports Doctor.
Dr luk was very kind patient and informative. He took the time to sit and listen to everything i had to say. He explained the situation very well. I really appreciate that he considers what is best for the patient instead of jumping straight to suggesting surgery. In my case, i was told by another orthopedic that my situation was really urgent and extreme and that surgery was necessary. I felt something was wrong since i did not feel like it was as bad as he made it seem. So i went to dr luk. Dr luk confirmed my suspicions. I did not need surgery. Theres no rush for me to get one. And my situation is far off from what the other guy was telling me. I feel so grateful to have found dr luk. He really does care about his patients. I hope the best for him and his team.

Dr. Luks is a wonderful doctor. I trust him with my care without any doubt!
I am a nurse, so I am able to recognize great bedside manner, compassion and caring. I have not had surgery by him, but my colleagues have him in high regards and have not heard 1 negative comment about him. Also his book is full of insight as to how to stay healthy and is written as a friend talking to you and not with medical words to confuse the layman. Have an ortho issue, see Dr. Luks. His staff also deserve praises, they are friendly, and your don't wait hours to be seen by the doctor.

Dr. Luks reviewed my knee X-rays with me via wall mounted, HD screens (32-36") and thoroughly explained to me what I was seeing in everyday terminology. Dr. Luks takes the time to explain what's appropriate/needed to stay healthy (daily exercise, movement and not being sedentary) from a whole body perspective to live a long, healthy and active life. Dr. Luks' staff is very helpful, courteous, professional and personable.
Great doctor
Dr Luks has been taking care of my Orthopedic problems for many years. I am a Registered Nurse who worked at Westchester Medical Center at the same time that he was the Chief of Sports Medicine there. He was my doctor of choice, by reputation and patient outcomes. He has operated on both of my shoulders and my husband's knee. I always find him to be thoughtful, personable and professional. I completely trust him and would recommend him highly.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Luks. Upon entering his office , his staff was extremely courteous and attentive. Dr. Luks examined my xrays, examined my knee, and answered all my questions. I was confident in his diagnosis and happy that it wasn't anything serious. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient. I would definitely go back to him for any future orthopedic issues.

Dr. Howard J. Luks is absolutely the best in the business. He is extremely knowledgeable and always looks out for your well being and best interests. He's not one to want to rush you in for surgery to chop you up. He explains all your options and has a great dry and witty sense of humor. I'm so happy he is still in the game.
