Jeffrey McAlister, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon, who specializes in advanced foot and ankle reconstruction with offices in Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. McAlister’s passion for patient care began at the University of Iowa, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in 2004, before garnering an interest in podiatric medicine and surgery during his time at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
Since his days as a podiatric medical student, Dr. McAlister has gone on to continue his education whenever possible. He completed a rigorous residency training in the northern Virginia suburbs through the INOVA Fairfax Hospital Podiatric Residency program, where he received specialized training in foot and ankle trauma, adult and pediatric reconstruction, and diabetic limb salvage.
Some of Dr. McAlister’s rotations during his time in the program included internal medicine, infectious diseases, vascular surgery, emergency medicine, and general surgery.
Under the mentorship of prominent doctors like John Steinberg DPM and Chris Attinger MD, Dr. McAlister even served as chief resident for the limb salvage service at Georgetown University Hospital during that time.
Dr. Jeffrey E. McAlister is honored to be one of only a few podiatric surgeons in the United States that has completed a 12 month surgical fellowship at the prestigious Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio. This is a unique fellowship that trains both Podiatric and Orthopedic Surgeons. This advanced surgical training focused on foot and ankle trauma, reconstruction as well as total ankle replacement. This was completed in Columbus, Ohio under the direction of Christopher Hyer, DPM, Gregory Berlet MD, Thomas Lee MD and Terrence Philbin DO and was affiliated with Grant Medical Hospital and The Ohio State University. This is the same type of fellowship that MD/DO orthopedic surgeons complete if they wish to sub-specialize in the foot and ankle.
As a fellow member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and national speaker and peer educator, Dr. McAlister is passionate about technological advances in the foot and ankle field, specifically in educating patients on the advantages of primary and revision total ankle arthroplasty.
Between six educational lectures and four podcasts, he got into the weeds of his specialty as a leading spectator in the field of ankle reconstruction

Dr. Jeffrey McAlister and his team are amazing. Very professional & considerate. The twelve days of non-weight bearing wasn’t ideal, but recovery is progressing smoothly. Six weeks and a couple of days after surgery & I’m starting PT; yesterday was some chipping & putting! Wonderful experience with Dr. McAlister. Highly recommended.

Dr. McAlister and his entire team are amazing to work with. They are consistently very professional, polite, and always take their time to make you feel seen and heard. From the first time I visited the office I’ve felt completely comfortable and confident with Dr. McAlister, I’m so glad I chose his practice for my surgery.
Dr. McAlister listened to my ongoing problem, diagnosed it with imaging and examination and then explained it to me. All this was done in a thorough caring manner. He asked me if I ever tried a brace, I answered yes, it was drug store quality and didn't feel comfortable. I love that he didn't give up and suggested we try another one. I've been wearing the brace as a part of the treatment plan, it actually feels good and seems to be helping already. Dr. McAlister chose the brace; made sure it fit correctly and showed me how to wear it properly. Thank you!

My surgery went smoothly, and the outcome is exactly as expected. Overall it's been a great experience from the staff through to Dr. Mcalister himself. Excellent service,very attentive doctor
From the time you first enter the office, it is very comfortable & nicely furnished. The front desk is right there with very friendly receptionists, I didn't have to wait long, they x-rayed my foot in office, so when Dr McAllister came in, he could see what was wrong. He was informative, kind & very professional. I chose what I wanted to do & not do, left very happy with the experience. Highly recommend him!
