This was my first visit after receiving a referral to this practice. I was impressed immediately upon arriving. A neat, clean and spacious waiting area coupled with a friendly and professional staff greeted me instantly. The waitShow more time was minimal. The first two dental staffers, Autumn and Lauren made sure I was comfortable and did their jobs so well!! Dr. Herman was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and sweet, reassuring me that my maladies were not necessarily my fault but had much to do with my genes. That made me feel better instantly. I STRONGLY recommend this practice to anyone needing dental assistance!!
The visit was perfect. Everyone was eager to be as helpful as possible. The screening was extremely thorough. They explained everything to me as they went along. Indeed the whole visit was very informative. Then the doctor set up Show morea clear treatment plan, explaining throughout why she was doing what she was doing. Then the front office provided precise information about cost and time frame for each of the visits. They also offered to help with my insurance questions. I can’t think of any way the appointment could have been improved
Dr. Herman grew up in West Monroe, Louisiana. She attended West Monroe High School, then earned a Bachelor’s in biochemistry with a minor in chemistry from Louisiana State University. While studying there, she received the Chancellor’s Future Leaders in Research Scholarship, the Centennial Scholarship, and was named to the LSU Alumni Association Top 100 Scholars list. Dr. Herman received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from LSU School of Dentistry in 2016. She went on to complete her residency in periodontics there in 2019, where she served as the chief resident.
To maintain her professional credentials and stay up with the latest advances in periodontics, Dr. Herman maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, American Association for Dental Research, Louisiana Dental Association, and New Orleans Dental Association.
Dr. Herman has extensive leadership and volunteer experience. As Community Service Chair for the LSUHSC dental class of 2016, she organized community service opportunities for members of her class, including fundraisers, food drives, and Habitat for Humanity service. Dr. Herman has volunteered for both the New Orleans and the Louisiana Missions of Mercy and provided dental services and supplies to adults and children in the mountain communities of Guatemala through LSU Global Healing. She served as clinic co-coordinator at the Ozanam Inn in New Orleans, working with medical students to provide free health and dental care for the homeless.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Herman enjoys cooking and fishing and is a lifelong Saints and LSU fan. She especially loves spending time with her sweet Olive.

I apologize - I get anxious when I go to the dentist, but Dr. Herman and her tech were amazing. (And I like the music!).
My daughter is special needs and we see Dr. DALY but he saw somethings that Dr. Markel would be best suited today. Well after finally getting both dentist, nurse (Lynette Markel) and a CRNA (Dexter) on board we had surgery today. Jessica was taken care of from a top notch team. They kept me in the loop about what was going on and 3 hrs later we were done. We left with all kinds of things to help with recovery and everyone was very very patient, kind and sincere.

Sinus lift to prepare for implants, upper left. Good experience... virtually no pain (took only two pain pills (preventive) and minimal to no bleeding. Recommend this office.
