I highly recommend Dr. Jordan Shapiro. He is one of the best gastroenterologists I have ever met. I have been seeing him for over two years. He keeps his appointments, explains everything thoroughly, and doesn't get carried away when I ask questions. I truly appreciate his professionalism, kindness, and dedication. You will be in good hands with him.
In these times when doctors are often beholden to systems that strip the doctor-patient relationship of its humanity, it was profoundly reassuring to find Dr Shapiro: a caring and thoughtful physician who takes the time to really listen and understand the patient experience. I have felt very listened to and very safe in his care- not to even mention that I was in pain and distress when I arrived and he quickly sorted out a complex medical situation and put me on the right medicine, and without ordering a bunch of unnecessary invasive tests, which many GI docs would have done. Dr Shapiro is practicing the true art of medicine. Highly, highly recommend.
Dr. Shapiro has a great bedside manner. He is very thorough and explains everything in terms that you can understand. He is not like the other docs that want to get you in and out and on to the next patient like herding cattle for vaccines, no he spends the time with his patients listening to them and asking questions. He really knows the GI world and he is a person that you feel comfortable talking with about things you normally wouldn't talk about.
