While at my appointment I was treated like a plague by staff for not having vaccine. I had covid 2 years ago at the start of the pandemic. I’m a science professional and my condition makes it impossible for me to get any shots ofShow more any kind. As it starts an immune response that attacks my own cells, destroying my organs. I spoke of my stroke in 2011 and the heart surgery I had at that time. I have muscle atrophy on my left side. I have spastic muscles due to inflammation from connective tissue disease/Lupus. I have seen Dr Roldon for 10 years now. I have never been treated that way prior to this past year. When I asked if physical therapy would benefit my stroke side and help prevent my ride side from pulling my spine out of alignment so often he said yes but getting the disease under control was best instead of adding more meds. He went up on my injections cautiously and ordered me therapy. He walked me to the nurse station and handed someone my lab orders. I go strait to lab after my visits due to methotrexate toxicity. After labs I asked them for copies of that days notes lans drawn etc. I’ve had trouble with them filing insurance in the past. Nothing on my files ever listed RA as my diagnosis. In ten years. So imagine my surprise when I get a call from my local therapist and she says he ordered therapy for RA. Hmmmm I asked if I could see the papers he sent. Yup. I have a script saying diagnosis RA. I show her my actual paper that lists my diagnosis and my current inflamed condition. She says to me we can’t treat you for that. We have been told to treat for RA. That she could have tore my connective tissues in my condition had I not told her. I explained my immune sets off an immune response when I try to exercise and it’s a vicious cycle. I have to be very careful. I want to maintain balance so to prevent more muscle atrophy without causing damage to tissue and ligaments. She said I would need to go to a specialty hospital for that so they could monitor my immune response to their exercises. She told me to continue light stretches without pain. If pain experienced, not to over stretch as I could tear the tissue from the bone. Needing invasive surgery to repair. She said to inform the office of their mistake. I called and left messages with nurse on Roldon’s number. No reply as of yet. I did not wish to deny therapy. However it needs to be referred to a facility that knows how to treat and monitor my condition. My hospital here in Del Rio is not equipped to help me. I have been to stat hospital and it is costly as they do not take my new insurance. RA is similar in some ways. However my condition has 4 other diagnosis from other special doctors. My condition involves systemic inflammation. Not the bones.
Dr. ROLDAN is awesome. He always takes time to listen. He explains everything so I can understand it. I have recommended him to alot of people here in Del Rio. Only problem I have is the checkout staff. Lately, they have been veShow morery rude. I tell them Dr. Roldan wants to see me back in 2 months and she just looks at me and says "He is booked up" and they give me an appointment for 3 or 4 months out. I tell her that he specifically said 2 months and she just tells me again that there is no opening for 2 months. I go home and contact Dr. ROLDAN'S nurse and she gets me an appointment for 2 months. The checkout staff needs to be trained in being polite with patients and helpful. I have experienced this problem for the last 6 months. I have been seeing Dr. Roldan since 2011, and have never had a problem with any of the staff until recently. Dr. Roldan and the nurses are awesome.

Short visit and to the point
Dr Roldán took his time explaining our medical challenges and how to better improve our lives (my husband also sees him). His demeanor is very calming and assuring. In my opinion, the doctor is 75% of our wellbeing and Dr. Roldán definitely exceeds our expectations. Thanks Dr. R
Explica muy bien tu condicion y medicamentos
He explained all that is going with me. I felt like he would help me take care of my pain.
It was good. DrRoldan speaks to the issues you have thoughtfully. He addresses your needs.
Dr Roldan came highly recommended. He is extremely knowledgeable, plus he explains my conditions and treatments thoroughly. Most importantly he is kind and patient. It took me a few visits to feel comfortable after having been with my past rheumatologist for over 20 years, but he has won me over and can be my doctor for the next 20 years. I like that he took some time to get to know me before making any recommended changes to my treatments.
Dr. Roldan is very knowledgeable about what he says , very thorough in explaining things and very considerate. I have been a patient of his for a few years and am very pleased with the way he treats his patients
Dr. Jose Roldan is a very knowledgeable & compassionate physician. He explained health issues & treatment explicitly to me. I highly recommend him for patients suffering with arthritis pain. It's not a matter of "Take an aspirin & call me tomorrow."
Dr. Roldán is smart, well-informed, & compassionate. He tries to give clear explanations about the bases of his recommendations.
Dr. Roldan is very caring, knowledgeable, and thorough and his expertise is helping me to learn how to thrive while living with psoriatic arthritis.
Extremely satisfying satisfied
He’s so compassionate and has kept me going the last 10 years.
Dr. Roldan has the best "bedside manner" of any doctor I've ever seen; he always answers all questions and thoroughly explains all medications and procedures. He never gives the impression that his time is limited.
Dr Roldan explains very well status of my illness, what I need to do to continue progress. Excellent caring Doctor!
Excellent service but difficult to get an appointment if not booked months ahead,
Dr Roldan is so kind, gentle and very attentive. I immediately felt very comfortable from the minute I met him! I am very grateful he is my doctor!
Short ofc visit with Dr. Rolland to get initial evaluation, very informative, followed up with blood labs and x-rays.
Very detail diagnosis
Dr. Roldan and the staff made my appointment a positive experience. From arrival to departure, the staff was attentive to my care in a professional & timely manner. Dr. Roldan took time to review and comment on lab results I brought from my other doctors. Our conversation was informative about my diagnosis, treatment and next steps. I appreciate his recommendation to monitor my diet for food allergies - possible trigger for inflammation. A positive experience!
Very informative about my medication.
Best-run clinic EVER.
