Dr. Roldan is incredibly thorough, kind, and knowledgeable. He took the time to listen to my full history, ordered multiple tests not considered by other physicians, and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. HShow moreis diagnosis was accurate and the treatment plan he created has made a big difference in how I feel. The office staff is also friendly and efficient, with minimal wait times. About Dr. Roldan
Jose Roldan, MD, MS, is an expert rheumatologist at Arthritis Associates in San Antonio, Texas. He is board-certified in internal medicine and rheumatology.
Dr. Roldan earned his medical degree from the Institute of Health Sciences in Medellin, Colombia, and a Master of Science in clinical investigation at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He completed an internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSC) in San Antonio.
Prior to joining Arthritis Associates, Dr. Roldan was a clinical instructor and associate professor of rheumatology at UTHSC in San Antonio. While at UTHSC, he created and directed the lupus and vasculitis clinics. He was also a staff rheumatologist at San Antonio Audie L. Murphy Memorial VA Hospital in Texas.
Dr. Roldan maintains his medical credentials to stay up to date with the latest advances in internal medicine and rheumatology. He is a member of the Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Society, and American College of Rheumatology.

Dr Roldan…brilliant, kind…a scientist/doctor who REALLY LISTENS to his patients. He always takes the time to explain and answer questions. I’m very grateful ( and fortunate ) that he is my rheumatologist.
The parking area is equipped with several ♿️ asssebility A+. The facility so clean and welcoming full off staff that made it easy to check in when they set the appointment it was for that time. Dr. J.Roldan, M D was patient, and very knowledgeable took his time to help. The labs and xray are in house WOUNDERFUL Came across a problem with labs. Around 14 vacutainers of blood. Cause it was labeled incorrectly what was so frustrating was the way I was treated, rushed , hushed just to get there appointment job done or I return.
I have been a patient here and have always had a good experience until now. This was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had. I received a voicemail confirming that my appointment was at 2:15 p.m. To make sure I hadn’t misunderstood, I called the office myself, and the staff member confirmed that 2:15 p.m. was the correct appointment time. When I arrived at 2:15, I was told my appointment had actually been scheduled for 10:15 a.m. and that I had “missed” it. This mistake was not mine. I relied on the information your office provided and even took the extra step of calling to verify it. Instead of acknowledging the error and trying to help, I initially felt like I was being dismissed and told the next available appointment wasn’t until August with a nurse practitioner or October with my physician. For patients coming to a rheumatology office, many of us are dealing with chronic pain and waiting months because of an office mistake is unacceptable. It wasn’t until I requested to speak with a manager that another appointment suddenly became available for the very next day. That alone suggests there were options that weren’t initially offered. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What matters is how they’re handled. I hope this office takes more care when confirming appointments and shows greater compassion and accountability when an error affects a patient.
Dr Roldan is very attentive. He actively listens to all your concerns and explains things thoroughly. I would absolutely recommend him and his team to anyone experiencing unexplained pain.

Dr. Roldan is a patient listener and excellent at communicating information. He's concerned to treat the symptoms and understands the challenges of autoimmune testing. The office is managed well, responsive and thoughtful. I've made several recommendations including a family member who was quickly diagnosed and began treatment.

I love Dr.Roldan…he listens and makes you feel at ease and tells you step by step the process to follow and I wish more doctors were like him. Shows much compassion for his patients.
